The couple tied the knot in a civil ceremony in April 2005Queen Camilla has made a rare comment about her and King Charles‘ marriage as they celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary in Italy.
Camilla, 77, and Charles, 76, have officially been married for 20 years, having tied the knot way back in 2005. The day of the wedding was celebrated by those closest to them.
20 years later and they appear to still be going as strong as ever. While they usually keep their personal life private, Camilla opened up on how they have remained happy over the years.

Queen Camilla’s admission over King Charles marriage
The couple spent their anniversary in Italy on a lengthy State Visit and even headed to see The Pope.
Camilla spoke to the media during their trip admitting that she can’t “believe” it was 20 years. She gushed that at the heart of their relationship, they are still friends.
She said: “20 years, who could believe it was 20 years? What is the secret? I don’t know. Well, I suppose it’s just sort of friendship, really.”
The royal family aren’t usually able to show much public affection towards each other while they are working. But that didn’t stop Camilla from showcasing how much she and Charles have in common.
She continued by giving fans a deeper look at their relationship – something which is usually kept private.
She said: “Laughing at the same things, getting on with life. I suppose doing this takes up most of the time,” Camilla was referring to the school behind her, where she was meeting children who learning about Paddington Bear.
But while they may always be working, the couple always make time to schedule in catch ups with each other.
The queen added: “We are always going in different directions, like ships that pass in the night really. We whizz past each other. In fact, we have got a bit of a catch-up this afternoon.”

King and queen are keeping some celebrations for the UK
While they may have been celebrating their anniversary in Italy, it seems there is still one thing they are keeping for the UK. That is giving each other anniversary presents.
She explained: “We are going to do that when we get back. We are going to save that. Otherwise you can’t really.. you have to rush it. You don’t have the time to say anything. No, I think we might dig into our pockets and pull something out at the end of the day.”
But when Camilla was asked what she got Charles, she refused to tell, insisting that it follows tradition.
King Charles recently had a health scare, when he had a reaction to his cancer treatment. He had to spend a few days admitted into hospital.
So, when Camilla was asked if she would like Charles to take things easier, she knew that wasn’t possible.
She responded: “Dream on! We have time over dinner to do a bit of catching up.”
As for how she feels about spending her anniversary in Italy, she admitted that she wished they “got a day off” to go somewhere and celebrate together.
