King Charles and Queen Camilla have returned from their Italy trip.

The couple, who celebrated 20 years of marriage on Wednesday April 9, will now reportedly settle down for a quiet Easter.

Let’s take a look at their reported plans…

King Charles and Queen Camilla’s final day in Italy

Charles and Camilla have enjoyed a jam-packed week in Italy. On their four day state visit, the king and queen had a private audience with the Pope and were welcomed to Rome and Vatican city with the utmost hospitality.

The king even brushed off his language skills and made moving speeches in both the country’s Parliament and Palazzo del Quirinale, highlighting unity and “eternal friendship,” between the UK and Italy.

Elsewhere, the couple spent their final day in Italy on Thursday, where Camilla enjoyed a couple of tipples as they visited a UK-Emilia Romagna Food Festival in the Piazza del Popolo.

As they landed in the region, the pair became greeted by a crowd, helmed by a group of ladies dressed in red and blue and sporting hats and fascinators whilst carrying Union Jack flags.

We thought it was wonderful that King Charles spoke in Italian in the parliament yesterday.

According to MailOnline, they dubbed themselves as “Anglophiles” (a person who greatly admires England or Britain) and “huge fans” of the royals.

Antique dealer Chiara Simonini gushed: “We love England and the royal family. We love the history and their sense of duty. The fact that King Charles is coming here to us now is magic. “

Another member of the group, Giorgia Lucenti, chimed in: “It’s a gift for us. We thought it was wonderful that King Charles spoke in Italian in the parliament yesterday. It showed enormous respect. We would give him ten out of ten. He was perfect.”

It seemed as if the whole of Ravenna welcomed the monarch and his queen consort on their final day in the country, with the crowds offering a warm welcome and best wishes to the king and queen as they waved from a balcony.

The couple also met with local farmers whose livelihoods have been negatively impacted by devastating floods which have hit the region in recent years.

Queen Camilla tries her hand at pasta making

At one point, Camilla even gamely mucked in with a team of sfogline (pasta makers) to roll out some freshly made pasta.

After grabbing a rolling pin, she quipped: “I can see you need to be quite strong for this!”

Evidently, the king and queen were introduced to some of the most delicious dishes and beverages the region has to offer. His Majesty even received his own jar of chutney.

He received the gift with a smile and confirmed: “We’ll enjoy that later.”

The king and queen return home

Now, the couple have returned to UK soil. They reportedly landed in Scotland yesterday evening and the monarch is set for a quiet Easter.

Meanwhile, the Duchess of Edinburgh, Sophie, has stepped in for King Charles today (April 11).

Sophie attended the Sovereign’s Parade at Sandhurst Royal Military Academy.

The royal diary

Elsewhere, the king and queen appear to have some time off.

The king and queen aren’t featured in the royal diary until April 17, where they will attend the Maundy Service in Durham Cathedral.

His Majesty will distribute the Royal Maundy during the service.

The Royal Maundy is money gifted by the crown to local pensioners in recognition of their community service.
