Prince Harry's favourite football team is Arsenal but he confessed something 'changed' after he moved to America
The Duke of Sussex has teased his favourite team beforeThe Prince of Wales has been making headlines for years over being an avid supporter of Aston Villa, but what football team does Prince Harry support?
Prince William has shown his genuine enthusiasm for the sport, from working with the Football Association, cheering on his favourite team Aston Villa and supporting England’s national teams.
Prince Harry first hinted at his favourite football team to support back in 2015.

What team does Prince Harry support?
While we know William and son Prince George are keen Aston Villa supporters, Harry implied he was an Arsenal fan instead.
When conducting a royal tour of New Zealand in 2015, Prince Harry was asked by a young fan why members of the royal family supported Aston Villa.
He replied: “No, it’s only one of us, just my brother. Most of the family actually support Arsenal.”
Then in 2017, when attended an England rugby training session, he said again that he supported Arsenal, adding: “I know. Let’s not talk about it” as it came after a match where they lost 5-1.
However, he said earlier this year that he has ‘never really been a big fan of soccer [football]’.
This may upset his brother William who is an avid fan of the sport.

Duke of Sussex is a huge American Football fan
After leaving The Firm with wife Meghan Markle, Prince Harry has been seen rubbing shoulders with high-profile celebrities at US football team matches too.
In September 2023, he attended David Beckham’s Inter Miami match against Los Angeles Football Club, near to other stars like Selena Gomez, Owen Wilson and TV presenter Mario Lopez. Then in November 2024, the Duke of Sussex watched Vancouver Argonauts go up against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers while in Vancouver. He was all smiles as he was interviewed before the game and gave a big thumbs up to the camera.
In March 2025 Prince Harry was giving his take on the Super Bowl, admitting he was a bigger fan of American Football after moving across the pond – while revealing his favourite team.
It may upset Taylor Swift fans, but he declared that he was loyal to the Philadelphia Eagles after being a former Kansas City Chiefs fan.
He said: “Having living here, I have got into American Football more than I probably should, especially Super Bowl – who doesn’t love a good Super Bowl?”

What football teams does the royal family support?
When it comes to discussions behind palace walls, there may be tense conversations as the royals support various teams.
King Charles is a Burnley supporter, and was once given a VIP season ticket from the club.
He explained he backed the team after completing charity work in the area: “Burnley has been through some very challenging times and I’m trying to find ways of helping to regenerate and raise aspirations and self-esteem in that part of the world.”
Prince William, as we know is an Aston Villa supporter, and has been seen attending England games and FA Cup finals after becoming the president of the Football Association.
Whereas Kate Middleton reportedly supports Chelsea, as one fan said she confirmed she did at a children’s charity event in 2015.
But when it comes to the late Queen Elizabeth II, it’s not known what club was her favourite, however, West Ham and Arsenal have both been claimed to be on her radar.
