Heartache for Prince William and son George as they watch Aston Villa game
George and William are big Villa fans!Prince William and son Prince George were left gutted last night (Tuesday, April 15) as their beloved Aston Villa team lost again.
The Prince of Wales and his son, 11, were at the game as Aston Villa’s Champions League journey came to an end. George is currently on his Easter break from school.

Who was with Prince William at Aston Villa?
The Prince of Wales, 42, was seen with son George and George’s godfather, the Duke of Westminster, at the match.
Aston Villa faced PSG (Paris Saint-Germain) in the second leg of their quarter-final tie in the Champions League. Aston Villa were 3-1 down on aggregate, having lost the previous fixture in Paris last week.
With William and George watching on from the hospitality box, Villa fought back to win last night’s game 3-2. However, despite their win, they still lost 5-4 on aggregate – the total number of goals scored by each team over two matches – meaning PSG went through to the next round of the competition.
The TNT Sports cameras picked up William and George at various points during the match.
They were shown with concerned looks on their faces 11 minutes in when PSG went 1-0 up.
However, they were seen on their feet, cheering, when Youri Tielemans scored for Villa just before half-time.
They were spotted on their feet again when John McGinn scored to equalise, and again when Ezri Konsa made it 3-2 Villa.
However, as the full-time whistle blew, both princes looked gutted as their side’s European journey came to an end.

George and William watching Aston Villa in Paris
William and George were at the reverse fixture last week.
The father and son duo were spotted celebrating wildly as Aston Villa took the lead in the 35th minute. However, they were left disappointed when PSG equalised less than four minutes later.
The game ended with a 3-1 PSG win.
During an interview with TNT Sports before the game, William spoke about how he wanted to create “special memories” with his son.
“I’m not sure how many Villa fans there will be, but they will make themselves well known,” he said.
“I have got my son here too, so I am on my best behaviour, but 43 years since this has happened and I want George to experience a night out in a big competition, those memories are really important to create and bringing him away is important,” he continued.
“I am open to who they support, I am biased, but they come to games with Villa, so it will likely be Villa, but I have left the other two at home, probably watching on TV. We will see who they support.”

Fans gush over George and William
Last week, during the game, royal fans took to X to gush over William and George enjoying the game together. One particular moment – when Villa scored and William hugged George – sent fans wild.
“It’s beautiful to see that there is so much love in the Wales family,” one royal fan tweeted.
“George will never forget this day with his father. Such a great dad and son moment,” another said.
Why is Prince William an Aston Villa fan?
Prince William began following football in his school days. He told the BBC in 2015: “A long time ago at school I got into football big time. I was looking around for clubs. All my friends at school were either Man United fans or Chelsea fans and I didn’t want to follow the run of the mill teams.
“I wanted to have a team that was more mid-table that could give me more emotional rollercoaster moments.”
