Meghan Markle will leave her Montecito home next week without Prince Harry for a special reason – and it’s on Prince Louis’ birthday.

Harry, 40, has spent time away from home quite a lot recently, visiting both the UK and Ukraine. Now, it seems it’s Meghan‘s turn to leave home for a short trip.

On April 23, the same day as Prince Louis‘ seventh birthday, Meghan will head to New York City for a very special event – without her husband.

Meghan Markle set for New York event without Prince Harry

Meghan, 43, will join “the world’s most influential people” at the fifth-annual TIME100 summit. However, Prince Harry has not been listed as a speaker. He also hasn’t been confirmed to be in attendance.

The TIME100 summit is an event where “leaders from a global TIME community spotlight solutions and encourage action toward a better world,” according to its website.

Meghan has always been very vocal about wanting to help make the world a better place. She has often spoken at huge influential events. But this time, she won’t be alone. In fact, she will be there along with other A-list celebrities.

Meghan is listed as “Duchess of Sussex and founder of As Ever”. Close to her name is also Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds.

The event will only be a day long, but its aim is to bring influential figures together, varying across industries.

The following day, there will be a TIME100 Gala, hosted by Snoop Dogg. However, at this moment it is unknown whether Meghan will attend. Footage from the gala will be available on ABC on Sunday May 4.

While Meghan has been invited to the event, she has been left out of this year’s cover selections for the TIME magazine most influential people in the world segments. Celebrities that beat her to the cover include tennis player Serena Williams, actress Demi Moore, artist Snoop Dogg, singer Ed Sheeran and Google DeepMind CEO Dennis Hassabis.

Meghan has featured on the cover before, back in 2021. But Prince Harry also featured alongside her.

Two events take place on Prince Louis birthday

On the same day (April 23), Prince Louis celebrates his seventh birthday back in the UK with his parents Prince William and Kate.

Once Louis turns seven he will finally have the option of boarding overnight at school, something which only happens when you are older. So, while his siblings Prince George and Princess Charlotte both are able to, Louis will only reach that milestone next week.

However, Meghan isn’t the only member of the royal family with an event that clashes with the young royal’s birthday. Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York will also speak at a summit on the same day – only hers is in London.

She initially announced the news on her Instagram story, explaining it would “bring global change-makers to the heart of the UK capital”.

The IDEAS+LEADERS summit is an exclusive one-day leadership experience where many influential people come together to redefine the future of leadership and business.

So, April 23 looks set to be an important day for the royal family all over the world!
