Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson were noticeably absent from the official photos released by the royal family following the Easter Sunday service, despite attending the event at Windsor alongside other senior royals.

The Duke of York arrived at St George’s Chapel on Easter Sunday morning (April 20) with his ex-wife, the Duchess of York.

However, they were excluded from a series of carefully curated images posted on the royal family’s official social media accounts.

The post showed King Charles and Queen Camilla warmly greeting members of the public, along with images of Princess Anne, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, and their 17-year-old son James, Earl of Wessex.

The snub did not go unnoticed by royal watchers.

“Where is Andrew? I don’t see him in these pictures, I wonder why?” One follower mused.

“Andrew interestingly absent from the images shared,” another noted.

“No photos of Andrew here, did you realise your mistake in including him?” A third follower questioned.

Although no official explanation was given for Andrew’s omission, it could be due to a shift in how the monarchy chooses to present itself under King Charles’ reign.

The king has prioritised active, working royals.

Andrew stepped back from royal duties in 2019 following his disastrous BBC Newsnight interview, which addressed his ties to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.

Since then, his public appearances have been limited and he no longer carries out royal engagements.

His Easter Sunday attendance was his first public appearance with the family since renewed reports linked him to a Chinese businessman accused of espionage ties.

Despite the controversy, he arrived smiling and walked into the chapel alongside Sarah Ferguson. Sarah has remained one of his few consistent supporters and still lives with him at Royal Lodge in Windsor.

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, the couple’s daughters, also attended the Easter service with their husbands.

While Andrew didn’t appear in the official social media content, Beatrice and Eugenie made appearances in the Instagram photo carousel.

This editorial choice also reflects King Charles’ commitment to a slimmed-down monarchy.

The Prince and Princess of Wales were also missing from this year’s Easter photos. Reports claimed their absence was due to a pre-planned private family break in Norfolk with their children.

However, an insider has alleged that William and Kate may have skipped out on the service due to Andrew’s presence too.

“William has no time for his uncle,” an insider told the Mirror. “This Easter was about spending time with his own family. But he would far prefer a situation where he doesn’t have to spend time with him.”

Prince Edward and Sophie’s daughter Lady Louise Windsor was also absent, as she continues her studies at the University of St Andrews.

Meanwhile, Queen Camilla and King Charles appeared in high spirits at the Easter service.
