Prince William and Kate Middleton's Easter Sunday 'revealed' after they missed royal service
William and Kate chose to spend a quiet Easter Sunday with their children
While much of the royal family gathered in Windsor for the annual Easter Sunday service, Prince William and Kate Middleton chose to mark the holiday in a more intimate way with their children.
The Prince and Princess of Wales were noticeably absent from the public service at St George’s Chapel on Sunday (April 20).
However, it has now been reported that the couple instead attended a quieter church service at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham alongside their three children – Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six – and Kate’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton.

How Prince William and Princess Kate spent Easter Sunday
According to HELLO!, an eyewitness at the Norfolk church claimed Kate, 43, looked elegant in a long camel coat paired with a brown trilby hat. Meanwhile, William opted for a classic dark suit.
The family was said to be in high spirits as they departed the church service, having received wrapped hot cross buns from vicar Canon Paul Williams.
A crowd of well-wishers gathered outside, hoping to catch a glimpse of the royal family. However, they left discreetly via the back entrance.
The decision to spend Easter in Norfolk reflects the couple’s fondness for Anmer Hall.
The 10-bedroom countryside residence was gifted to them by Queen Elizabeth II as a wedding present in 2011.
We spend as much time as we can here, it’s very peaceful
The home underwent a £1.5 million renovation. It has now become the family’s go-to retreat during school holidays.
“We spend as much time as we can here, it’s very peaceful,” Prince William shared in a previous Apple Time to Walk interview.
Kate’s parents, who live in nearby Bucklebury Manor in Berkshire, were also believed to be part of the family’s Easter plans.

Royal family’s Easter celebrations
Back in Windsor, King Charles and Queen Camilla led the royal family’s traditional Easter Sunday appearance.
They attended the service at St George’s Chapel alongside Princess Anne, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, and Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson.
The king and queen also greeted well-wishers outside the chapel.
Lady Louise Windsor, daughter of Prince Edward and Sophie, was also absent from the service due to her university commitments.
It was recently alleged that William and Kate’s absence may have been related to Prince Andrew’s attendance.
Andrew has kept a low profile since stepping back from royal life in 2019. It came after he addressed his friendship with late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein in a BBC interview. The Easter service is his first royal appearance in 2025.
“William has no time for his uncle,” a close source told the Mirror. “This Easter was about spending time with his own family. But he would far prefer a situation where he doesn’t have to spend time with him.”
The Prince and Princess of Wales will return to royal duties after the Easter break.
