A touching Easter moment between Sarah Ferguson and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, has left royal fans gushing online.

The pair attended the Easter Sunday service at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle yesterday (April 20).

Sarah was seen arriving with her ex-husband Prince Andrew. Meanwhile, Sophie, her husband Prince Edward and their 17-year-old son James, Earl of Wessex, attended shortly after.

King Charles and Queen Camilla then joined the royals as they headed into the service. The Prince and Princess of Wales were absent from the service. They spent the day with their children in Norfolk instead.

But as the royals left the service, they were seen departing from the chapel.

It was during this time that Sarah, 65, and Sophie, 60, shared a sweet moment. The pair were seen walking up a hill alongside Andrew, Edward and James.

They wrapped their arms around each other as they headed home.

Royal fans have gushed over the moment on X. One person said: “Two ladies, who have known each other for years, showing support for each other!”

Another wrote: “A gesture of kindness and support.”

Meanwhile, a third added: “Fergie is recovering from cancer. Sweet Sophie is showing her compassion and support.”

Prince Andrew’s ‘cocky’ Easter service

Despite no longer being a working royal, the Duke of York was by his family’s side at the Easter service on Sunday.

A body language expert described his appearance as “cocky”.

Two ladies, who have known each other for years, showing support for each other!

Judi James told the Mirror: “Andrew’s body language signals were all about a kind of cocky arrogance here. With his jacket undone he positioned himself in the gap in the middle of the group where he stood with his legs splayed in a pose of confidence.

“He evaporated back into the gloom of the porch once Charles arrived but that also gave him the option of walking into the chapel close behind the king and queen, perhaps with Fergie who seemed to have nipped to stand behind him.”

When did the Duke of York step back from royal duties?

Andrew stepped back from royal duties in late 2019. It came after his disastrous Newsnight interview, where he addressed his friendship with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

He also spoke about the sexual assault allegations against him from accuser Virginia Giuffre.

Then in 2022, Andrew settled out of court for an undisclosed sum in a civil case brought by Giuffre. Andrew has always vehemently denied these claims.
