Queen Camilla ‘stormed out’ of party over King Charles, claims EastEnders star Cali Norris

During a recent appearance on the Chicken Soup for the Soul podcast, former EastEnders star Carli Norris revealed that Charles once made a comment about her “sexy” legs.

Charles, who was Prince of Wales at the time, met Carli after watching her and her co-stars in The Chiltern Hundreds in the West End back in 2016.

In the opening scene of the show, Carli said she was “lounging on a chaise longue wearing a pair of hot pants and sandals”.

She left the room and stormed out.

“[After the show] Prince Charles was walking around, introducing himself to everybody and he came up to me and he shook my hand and he went ‘You’ve got very sexy legs.’ I went ‘oh thank you, your highness,'” she said.

Carli’s co-stars then went for dinner with King Charles and Queen Camilla.

“Apparently, Prince Charles was going on and on about my legs so much that eventually Camilla slammed her knife and fork down and said ‘oh for goodness sake, Charles, will you stop going on about that gal’s legs?!’ She left the room and stormed out,” she then claimed.

Carli Norris jokes about King Charles encounter

Carli learnt about the incident through her co-star, Edward Fox, the following day.

The star also revealed that she was later invited to Buckingham Palace as one of 100 “National Treasures” for Queen Elizabeth II’s platinum jubilee in 2022. Carli thought the invite was a joke at first. However, upon confirmation that it was real, she went to the event alongside her daughter.

“I can only imagine, Elisabeth Dermot Walsh, that Prince Charles has been following my career and he is the one that wanted me sitting near him for his mummy’s jubilee, that’s what I can imagine,” she joked.

Elisabeth Dermot Walsh, the podcast host, then joked that Carli could expect a damehood in the post now that Charles is king.

Camilla on ‘secret’ of her marriage to Charles

King Charles and Queen Camilla recently celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary. Their anniversary fell during their recent state trip to Italy.

Speaking to the media during their time there, Camilla was asked what the secret behind their 20-year marriage is.

“20 years, who could believe it was 20 years? What is the secret? I don’t know. Well, I suppose it’s just sort of friendship, really,” she said.

“Laughing at the same things, getting on with life,” she added.

Continuing, she admitted: “We are always going in different directions, like ships that pass in the night really. We whizz past each other. In fact, we have got a bit of a catch-up this afternoon.”
