Meghan Markle is in her entrepreneur era as she sat down to chat about her journey into business at the TIME100 summit.

The Duchess of Sussex opened up about her recent work with Netflix and launching her new brand As Ever.

The 43-year-old arrived in New York with husband Prince Harry with a four-car motorcade and ‘abnormal’ amount of security.

Meghan’s brand sold out within 45 minutes

It’s not the first time Meghan has received the TIME spotlight, appearing on the 2018 and 2021 world’s most influential people lists.

Speaking about her brand As Ever, which launched in March, she said that although rumours suggested her products sold out within 20 minutes, it was actually 45 – which is still impressive.

TIME CEO Jessica Sibley asked the royal: “It’s my understanding the first drop was sold out in 20 minutes,” as Meghan clarifies it was 45.

“After a year of work and development and, um, manufacturing, we had a feeling that it would have some buzz surrounding it.

“45 minutes was not something I could have anticipated.”

Despite the success she’s seen with the brand, she told the TIME100 summit that she’s grateful for her family and “supportive” husband Prince Harry.

The Duke of Sussex attended the event with her, and it came two years after their ‘catastrophic’ car chase in New York city.

Duchess didn’t want the Netflix crew in her own kitchen

The Duchess also explained why she opted to rent a home nearby for filming the cooking show over using her own home.

While explaining how she wanted an ‘authentic’ series, Meghan admitted she didn’t want to strive into the realm of reality or the old fashioned cooking shows.

“I had to be talking to the people in the room with me, and that was the crew,” Meghan Markle told the TIME100 summit.

On Suits, we had a crew of over 200 people, and on this show it’s a crew of 80 people. When people said, ‘Why didn’t you do it in your house?’

“It’s like, well, my kids are coming home for their nap, and 80 people in the kitchen isn’t really the childhood memory I would love for them to have.”

Meghan Markle tells TIME100 audience she is ‘happiest she’s ever been’

The mum-of-two also made a confession on stage, telling the audience “hat I could very comfortably say, is I’m the happiest I’ve ever been.”

Of all the things that have happened in my life, I never would have imagined that getting here, at this point, I feel just so happy and grateful. I really do.”

It comes as her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan has been renewed for a second season and they’re already confirming guests to come onto the show.
