Meghan Markle has paid a touching tribute to her late mother-in-law Princess Diana with her Ralph Lauren outfit during an appearance with Prince Harry.

Meghan, 43, attended the TIME100 Summit in New York alongside Harry on Wednesday (April 23). And it appears she even wore a tribute to Princess Diana on the outing. The Duchess of Sussex was invited to speak at the event, where numerous other celebrities were too.

Harry, 40, and Meghan arrived together, bringing their ‘abnormal’ amount of security with them. However, eyes were firmly on Meghan’s outfit and how she paid her respects to Harry’s mother.

The former actress wore a tan Ralph Lauren suit, with wide-legged bottoms and a white buttoned top.

She accessorised with a brown belt and brown suede heels. She also added hoop earrings, with her hair in loose waves.

It’s reported that the Ralph Lauren outfit cost around $6k (£4.6k). Fashion blogger What Meghan Wore spoke to Marie Claire about just how expensive Meghan’s casual chic look was.

It’s believed the Ralph Lauren blazer cost $2,490 (£1.8k). Meanwhile, the wide-leg trousers from the same designer cost $2,190 (£1.6k). Ralph Lauren seemed to be the theme of the night for Meghan as she also wore a $1,490 (£1.1k) blouse from the huge fashion designer.

While her clothes cost a huge sum, the set of gold Tabayer hoops appeared to cost $7,250 (£5.4k) alone.

Did Meghan Markle wear the same outfit as Diana?

Meghan didn’t wear Diana’s exact outfit for the New York appearance. But she did pay tribute to her late mother-in-law with her jewellery pieces.

Some pieces appeared to originally belong to Princess Diana. Meghan has occasionally wore Princess Diana’s gold Cartier watch to events.

But last night she also added a diamond tennis bracelet to the look, that is believed to have been part of Diana’s jewellery collection.

The royals stepped out at the event where Meghan spoke on stage about her latest business venture – her Confessions of a Female Founder podcast. But despite receiving an invitation, Meghan doesn’t actually feature on any of the cover magazines for the 100 most influential people list. In 2021, she and Harry featured together on the cover.

During her time on the stage, Meghan admitted she is the “happiest” she has ever been in her life. She also gave an update on her son, Prince Archie.

Meghan ‘unhappy’ with podcast reception

The chat about her podcast comes as Meghan was reportedly “unhappy” over A-lister celebrities allegedly snubbing her podcast.

It’s believed that the duchess was wanting to sit down with celebs like Beyoncé and Taylor Swift. But so far, she hasn’t managed to get any interest from them.

A source told the MailOnline: “No one is picking up the phone. There’s no Taylor Swift. No Beyoncé. Not even a Hailey Bieber. And when you’re pitching female empowerment, that’s a problem. It speaks volumes for her pulling power. She is not happy about her lack of appeal.”

So far on the podcast, Meghan has spoken to the creator the the dating app Bumble, the founder of non-profit organisation Girls Who Code, and entrepreneur Kadi Lee.
