Did Meghan take inspiration from Princess Kate?
Meghan Markle has seemingly taken a leaf out of Princess Kate’s book – literally. The Duchess of Sussex has been accused by royal observers of trying to mirror the Princess of Wales.
It comes as social media users are questioning whether Meghan’s latest update is genuine and whether it was really filmed at her Montecito mansion.
Meghan Markle accused of ‘copying’ Princess Kate
In a new clip, Meghan is seen sporting a winter coat, cap and wellington boots whilst hauling a basket of flowers against a luscious background of greenery.
The duchess was enjoying a relaxed day in the garden and decided to document herself enjoying a spot of gardening.
In the clips, the person behind the camera can be heard chuckling as Meghan is filmed wobbling down a short flight of outdoor stairs holding a large basket overflowing with white flowers.
In another clip Meghan can be heard letting out a squeal as she showed off another full basket, stacked to the brim with citrus fruits, as she navigated a slew of flower beds.
Meghan signed off her string of Instagram stories with a clip showing off her harvest of fruits and flowers. It was here she penned: “A beautiful end to the day.”
In the background of the shot her dogs Pula, a black Labrador, and Mamma Mia, a beagle, were seen nosying around the lush garden.
The weather looked sunny in the footage, so you may be questioning why Meghan was decked out in a coat, jeans and a hat.
Royal observers question Meghan Markle
Well, eagle-eyed royal observers on X (formerly Twitter) reckon the duchess had taken style inspiration from her sister-in-law.
Some even questioned whether Meghan was really filming in her garden or whether it was staged for her social media page.
Looks very similar to Catherine Princess of Wales’ outfits.
One penned: “She definitely wants to copy Catherine’s outfit – her jacket style and skinny trousers.”
One unhappy social media user fumed: “She’s trying to act like she’s British with the jacket and the ‘wellies’. There’s nobody in California who dresses like this to work outside.”
Others pointed out that Princess Kate was recently seen wearing a similar ensemble made up of a jacket, skinny jeans and boots.
Social media users react to Meghan Markle
“The jacket was my first thought too! Why on Earth is she dressed like it is winter in a northern state?” chimed in another.
“Cosplaying Catherine,” quipped another.
Another fumed: “Looks very similar to Catherine Princess of Wales’ outfits.”
Others mulled over whether Meghan’s backdrop was truly her garden.

Meanwhile, Meghan brushed off the negative comments. Instead, she shared a sweet snap of her daughter Lilibet enjoying time in the garden.
She penned in the caption: “Sunday kind of love….with my little loves.”
