The Duchess of Sussex opened up about a range of topics, including her children, marriage and life as a royal, during the podcast.

Meghan Markle reveals ‘sad’ wish over Princess Diana
Earlier this week, Meghan made a surprise appearance on her friend and entrepreneur Jamie Kern Lima’s podcast.
During the interview, Meghan spoke about her marriage to Prince Harry and briefly touched on his late mother Princess Diana.
“So Harry said publicly, ‘So much of what Meghan is and how she is so similar to my mum. She has the same compassion. She has the same empathy. She has the same confidence. She has this warmth about her,'” Jamie said.
“How do you feel about him sharing that?”
“It’s beautiful,” Meghan replied. “I wish I could have met her.”

Meghan compared to Diana by Prince Harry
In his 2023 book, Spare, Harry revealed that he began speaking to Meghan on what would have been Diana’s 55th birthday.
“Eventually, we exchanged phone numbers and migrated the conversation over to text, going late into the night,” Harry wrote. He then went on to say that he was texting Meghan “like a teenager” the following day.
“It occurred to me how uncanny, how surreal, how bizarre, that this marathon conversation should have begun on July 1, 2016. My mother’s fifty-fifth birthday,” he then added.
In 2022, Harry and Meghan visited Diana’s burial site at Althorp, the Spencer family’s ancestral home in Northamptonshire.

Harry on Meghan Markle ‘meeting’ Princess Diana
“No visit to this place was ever easy, but this one… twenty-fifth anniversary,” he wrote in Spare.
“And Meg’s first time. At long last, I was bringing the girl of my dreams home to meet mum,” he continued.
“We hesitated, hugging, and then I went first. I placed flowers on the grave. Meg gave me a moment, and I spoke to my mother in my head, told her I missed her, asked her for guidance and clarity. Feeling that Meg might also want a moment, I went around the hedge, scanned the pond. When I came back, Meg was kneeling, eyes shut, palms against the stone.
“I asked, as we walked back to the boat, what she’d prayed for. Clarity, she said. And guidance.”

Meghan in tears during podcast interview
Elsewhere in the podcast interview this week, Meghan grew teary-eyed talking about her children.
Meghan revealed that she’s created email accounts for her children, Archie and Lilibet, which she emails every night before bed. She said that she hopes her children will see how loved they were when they get access to the accounts when they’re older.
Wiping away tears, Meghan said: “And that’s the best part about being a mum. We go back to a love language or gifts. It’s not about the grandeur of a gesture. It’s about ‘I see you, I’m nurturing you, and I see you so deeply, and I love being able to see your growth.”
“I’m just so proud of them,” she gushed.
