Prince William could 'remove' HRH title from Meghan and Harry when he's king
Meghan has recently been accused of breaking an agreement with her HRH titlePrince William could reportedly “remove” Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s HRH title when he becomes king.
The claims come after it was reported that Meghan has been using her HRH title recently, despite a prior agreement with the late queen that she wouldn’t.

Is Meghan still using HRH?
Following their exit from working royal life, Prince Harry and Meghan agreed that they would not use their HRH titles for commercial purposes. But they do still retain the titles.
It’s been reported recently that Meghan has continued to use her HRH title privately, sparking some uproar.
The duchess made headlines this week over a gift basket she previously sent to a friend. It was shown during a podcast appearance as Meghan sat down to talk with her friend, Jamie Kern Lima.
An image of the gift basket Meghan sent Jamie was shown, revealing a note that was signed: “With Compliments of HRH The Duchess of Sussex.”
The titles will simply be removed when he is king.
There has since been uproar over Meghan using her HRH title.
However, sources close to the duchess say that Harry and Meghan are entitled to use the title for personal gifts.
“Harry and Meghan retain their HRH titles; however, by agreement, they do not use them for commercial purposes,” they have claimed.
But now, a royal source reportedly told the Daily Beast that this interpretation was “complete rubbish”.

Could Prince William strip Harry and Meghan of HRH titles?
A statement released by Buckingham Palace in 2020 when Harry and Meghan stepped down from their roles read: “The Sussexes will not use their HRH titles as they are no longer working members of the royal family.”
This agreement was reached during the Sandringham Summit – a meeting between senior royals to discuss Harry and Meghan’s decision and royal future – back in 2020.
The source claimed that the summit “made it clear they had agreed not to use the HRH titles at all, ever, in any capacity”.
Now, according to a close friend of William, the Prince of Wales isn’t happy. They claimed that when William becomes king, he could remove the HRH titles from Harry and Meghan.
“There is no way King William will stand for this. The titles will simply be removed when he is king. A way will be found,” they said.
This is in contrast to King Charles’ approach. Sources allege that the monarch has “no appetite for a fight” on the matter.

Meghan changed her name on Archie’s birth certificate
The HRH titles are also used by Meghan and Harry on their son Prince Archie’s birth certificate.
When Archie was born in 2018, Meghan signed his birth certificate as “Rachel Meghan Markle” – her real name.
However, she later backtracked, signing it instead, “Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Sussex”.
At the time, Meghan and Harry were still working royals, so she had every right to make this change. However, there has been speculation over why she decided to make the change.
Some experts believe she made the change to follow in the footsteps of Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana.
Diana used to sign things with “Her Royal Highness the Princess of Wales”.
However, another theory is that Meghan was following royal protocol, where royal titles are preferred over first names on official documents.
What title is given to Meghan Markle?
Meghan Markle has the title of Duchess of Sussex. She and Harry have kept their Sussex titles and can use it despite not being working royals.
She also has the titles of Countess of Dumbarton and Baroness Kilkeel.
