It seems learning the ways of royal life is a family matter as Princess Charlotte reportedly learnt a lot from Princess Anne.

Growing up in the royal family is likely to be a challenge, trying to learn all of the rules and etiquettes. But when you have other family members to help you through, it can be a lot easier.

That seems to be the case for Princess Charlotte, who is apparently beginning to learn more about what is expected from her as a young royal. The princess, who turns 10 on May 2, has been learning a lot from her great-auntie Princess Anne. And, reportedly, she’s doing wonderfully at things even her mum struggled with.

What did Princess Anne do for Charlotte?

Over the last year, Charlotte has made more and more public appearances alongside her family members. Last year, she attended Wimbledon with mum Kate.

But in order to get full understanding of all things royal etiquette, Princess Charlotte has reportedly been getting lessons from Princess Anne.

Last year, a royal insider suggested that Charlotte is doing really well in the lessons and has worked on areas that Kate struggled with initially.

As quoted in Express, the insider told Woman Magazine: “Anne’s ‘training’, if you will, isn’t just about rank, file and curtsies, either. She has shown her how to spark conversations. But also how to end one and move on without upsetting anyone.”

She is used to the subtle signs and messaging the royals give to stay in control of a situation.

It seems this is exactly the thing that Kate struggled with the most when she first joined the family. But thanks to Anne’s training, Charlotte is reportedly already thriving at it.

The source added: “That was a tough one for Kate to learn. But Charlotte was born to royalty, so she is used to the subtle signs and messaging the royals give to stay in control of a situation.”

As for how William and Kate feel about Anne’s influence on Charlotte, they reportedly feel “thrilled”.

The insider claimed: “They couldn’t imagine a better role model than Anne. She is renowned for her work ethic and her impregnable support for the king. Anne doesn’t put a foot wrong, whilst still having her opinions not only heard but respected.”

Anne’s training has seemingly become a tradition as she also helped Kate at the beginning, apparently.

The source said Anne was “invaluable to Kate during those early, uncertain years”. They claimed that Kate wants Charlotte to “have the same candid tough love Anne gave to her”.

Could Charlotte be the next Princess Royal?

The training comes as Princess Charlotte could receive a rare title in the future.

When her father Prince William becomes king one day, Charlotte may become the Princess Royal. This particular title has only been used by seven women in history.

It’s a title traditionally carried by the monarch’s oldest daughter and held for life.

Right now, Princess Anne holds the title – so it makes sense that she has taught Charlotte proper protocol as one day she may have her title!

There can only be one living Princess Royal, so Charlotte can’t have this title until Anne passes away.

However, Prince William will determine whether Charlotte becomes the Princess Royal.

Royal Insider has contacted reps for Buckingham Palace for comment.
