Meghan Markle has responded to the recent royal family drama with a photo of her husband Prince Harry with their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

It comes after the Duke of Sussex gave a heartbreaking plea to his father King Charles last week. The 40-year-old revealed in a rare interview that they are not on speaking terms, and he feared how ‘much longer’ his father has left to live.

Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet photos are being shared more often by the Duchess of Sussex after she returned to Instagram earlier this year.

The former Suits actress took to Instagram (Saturday, May 3) and broke her silence after the drama over the weekend.

In a black and white picture, we see Harry carrying little Lilibet Diana on top of his shoulders as he holds his son’s hand in their garden, walking barefoot.

Archie is set to celebrate his sixth birthday soon, and Lilibet was born in 2021.

Their faces are not shown in the photo, a feature the couple choose to follow to help protect their privacy.

The 43-year-old did not add a caption to the photo and turned comments off.

It comes after Harry admitted he wouldn’t bring his children back to the UK to see his homeland after losing his security fight in court.

Duke’s legal loss

The new photo comes after Prince Harry’s tumultuous week, where the Duke lost his latest appeal in a lengthy legal battle against the Home Office in the UK. The dad-of-two has been fighting to get his security reinstated for himself, his wife, and their children while they are in Britain.

However, three judges dismissed his latest appeal, and although the royal has one more battle left – if he went to the Supreme Court – he revealed he will be dropping the case.

The five-year fight has consisted of three judicial reviews and has cost the UK taxpayers more than £500,000.

The couple lost their security detail when they stepped down as senior members of the royal family in 2020. After this decision, their security measures are monitored on a case-by-case basis when they are back in the UK – which Prince Harry said was not enough through his legal counsel.

A Buckingham Palace spokesperson praised the outcome: “All of these issues have been examined repeatedly and meticulously by the courts, with the same conclusion reached on each occasion.”

Prince Harry’s plea to King Charles

The Duke then gave a rare interview with BBC News following the bombshell verdict, where he said he likely won’t bring his children and wife back to the UK following the ruling.

He also explained he wanted to reconcile with his father who has ‘cut him off’.

He said: “I can’t see a world in which I would be bringing my wife and children back to the UK at this point.

“The things that they’re going to miss is, well, everything. I love my country. I always have done. Despite what some people in that country have done.

“I miss the U.K., I miss parts of the U.K., of course I do. I think that it’s really quite sad that I won’t be able to show my children my homeland.”

He added: “I would love reconciliation with my family. There’s no point in continuing to fight anymore.

“Life is precious. I don’t know how much longer my father has”.

Prince Harry said his dad “won’t speak to him” after his court battles, but holds out hope for a reconciliation. He added he has “forgiven” his family for the “many disagreements” over the years.

King Charles and Buckingham Palace have remained silent over his heartbreaking request.
