Prince Harry's 'honest feelings' while attending King Charles' coronation laid bare
William and Harry didn't interact on the big dayPrince Harry’s attendance at his father King Charles’ coronation revealed his new role in The Firm, and it was another nail in the coffin amid the rift that has torn the royal family apart.
The Duke of Sussex flew thousands of miles from his new home in Montecito, California, back to his homeland. He watched his father and stepmother Queen Camilla be crowned. He was alone. Meghan Markle and his children didn’t join him for the joyous occasion. We now know that Prince Harry won’t bring his family back to the UK over fears for their safety.
Therefore, on that momentous day where he watched his father’s coronation, it was a new reality for the ‘spare’.
But he didn’t leave without turning a few heads, including the ‘side eye’ he gave to brother Prince William and the surprising comment he made about his family which was picked up by a lip reader.

Was Prince Harry present at King Charles coronation?
Despite months of headlines speculating about whether Prince Harry would attend his father’s big day or not, the Duke of Sussex duly turned up at Westminster Abbey in London on May 6 for King Charles‘ coronation.
Statements released earlier in the year by Buckingham Palace and Archewell confirmed he would be attending. They did clarify beforehand that Meghan and the children would not be.
It was the first time he was seen in public with members of the royal family after his bombshell memoir Spare was released four months earlier.

His wife Meghan Markle and their two children did not make the trip over to the UK from the US. The day itself fell on their son’s birthday. It likely explains the Duchess’ reasons for now coming out as she was with Prince Archie on his fourth birthday.
Nonetheless, millions watched Harry’s every move intently whenever he was shown on TV to viewers around the world.
He walked into the Abbey alone, and he left alone.
Harry hopped into a car by himself when he left, not like the carriages the other senior royals took to the palace. He also made no appearance on the balcony alongside his family. The duke also wasn’t in any formal photographs for the big day.

Harry and William’s opposing role at the coronation
Prince Harry was seated along with other non-working royals in the Abbey. Prince William and Kate Middleton were two rows ahead, alongside their children and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh.
Harry sat with cousin Princess Eugenie, her husband Jack Brooksbank in the third row, near to uncle Prince Andrew.
Ahead of King Charles’ coronation, the palace explained Prince Andrew and Harry would not be wearing military uniforms as they are not working members of The Firm. They also were not invited to join the procession.

Harry, instead, wore a morning suit and his medals.
William, on the other hand, had a key role at the coronation. The heir, first in line for the throne, kissed his father and pledged his loyalty to him after Charles was crowned king.
His son Prince George also served as a Page of Honour for his grandfather, alongside Queen Camilla’s grandsons.

Duke of Sussex’s ‘side eye’ at brother William
Judi James, who analyses body language, claimed she spotted several moments where Prince Harry was apparently looking in the direction of his elder brother during King Charles’ coronation.
TV cameras captured Harry’s entrance at the Abbey, ahead of that of his brother. Harry and William were not shown interacting at any point, but Harry certainly mingled with other relatives.
Judi claimed to The Sun at the time that she noticed Harry also looking “pensive”.
She also suggested Harry “couldn’t stop” from glancing William’s way, describing the younger royal’s looks as “severe side-eye”.
Judi told the news outlet: “Despite his act of bravado there were some more telling moments and expressions from Harry, like this pensive one when he seemed to glance across at William.”

Shen then added: “William is clearly not about to look back here. And Harry’s severe side-eye glance suggests he’s sneaking this thunderous look almost unintentionally.
“When we tell ourselves not to do something the brain only tends to hear the suggestion without processing the ‘don’t’ command. This suggests the more Harry was telling himself not to look across at his brother the more he couldn’t stop.”
Reflecting on Harry’s “cocky” arrival, Judi also told the Mirror at the time the Duke of Sussex’s physical cues indicated he was “happy to be back”.
She claimed: “Still smiling and with his cheeks rounded, he then proceeded to perform a display of what looked like rather cocky bravado. His striding walk looked jaunty as he pushed one side of his jacket away before making his way up the aisle. He was nodding, grinning, using eyebrow flash rituals and chatting with people in the congregation.
“It was as though he was signalling to the world that he was upbeat, confident and happy to be back.”

Prince Harry’s ‘comment about his family’ at King Charles’ coronation
However, a lip reader revealed Prince Harry brought up his feud with the royals during King Charles’ coronation.
Lip reader Jeremy Freeman told The Sun, took aim at his family when he was sitting next to Princess Eugenie.
He reportedly said to them: “I’m fed up with the way they treat me.”
“It’s not an ideal situation.”
Jack Brooksbank then replied: “If I can make you feel any better, and even I can do it. It’s not the quiet life, is it?”
Harry is then said to have responded: “They don’t care,” before Jack chimed in: “I haven’t time for that, not if it’s over…”
The duke then ended with: “It’s an eventuality”.
Yes, Prince Harry is still fifth in line to the throne. Prince William is first in line, followed by his three children George, Charlotte and Louis. They are second, third and fourth in line respectively.
After the Duke of Sussex, his son Prince Archie is sixth in line for the throne, followed by his daughter Princess Lilibet Diana.
When Prince George grows up, if he has children, this will push the other royals below him further down in the line of succession.
