Tony finally got to attend a royal garden party after missing a similar event last year because he got stuck in traffic.

The brave youngster had both legs amputated after being abused as a baby by his birth parents, who were jailed for 10 years in 2018.

Tony was adopted by Paula and Mark Hudgell and has gone on to campaign to support other children.

He was the youngest ever recipient of a New Year Honour in December. He received the British Empire Medal (BEM) for services to the prevention of child abuse.

Tony co-founded the Tony Hudgell Foundation with the mission of enhancing the lives of children who have been affected by physical, emotional, or psychological abuse.

Through fundraising and events, the foundation supports The Evelina Childrens Hospital. It’s the hospital that saved Tony’s life.

These include Lord-Lieutenants, Societies and Associations, Government Departments, Local Government, the Services, the Church and other Faiths.

They nominate guests for invitation.

What happens at a royal garden party?

Royal garden parties see members of the monarchy arrive around 4pm. They then circulate among the guests through “lanes”. Each takes a different route and random presentations are made so that everyone has an equal chance of speaking to a royal family member, the royal website states.
