Princess Diana's childhood home Althorp House targeted by 'vandals' as her brother 'stunned'
Charles Spencer called the incident "disturbing"A farmhouse at the childhood home of Princess Diana, Althorp House, became targeted by vandals in a suspected arson attack recently.
Diana’s brother Charles Spencer, who owns Althorp House, has spoken out on the incident, calling it “disturbing”.
He explained that one of Althorp House’s farmhouses was “apparently burnt down by vandals” on Tuesday night.

On his X (formerly Twitter) account, Charles wrote: “Stunned to learn that one of the @AlthorpHouse’s farmhouses – fortunately, unoccupied at the time – was apparently burnt down by vandals last night.
“With thanks to @northantsfire for doing their very best. So very sad that anyone would think this is a fun thing to do.”
On Wednesday, he shared a photo of the fire at the farmhouse. Charles wrote: “Luckily unoccupied at the time – but still deeply disturbing that one of your farmhouses was torched by vandals last night.”
He then thanked the Northamptonshire Fire & Rescue for their response.

In a statement, Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service said they were called to the scene on Mill Lane at around 1.30am on Wednesday. It added: “Crews arrived to find a derelict two-story property fully on fire.
“At the height of the fire, four crews from across the service wearing breathing apparatus used hose-reel jets to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading further.
“One crew remained on the scene into this afternoon with a water bowser to continue dampening down any remaining hotspots, and then returned to their station shortly before 1pm.”

Princess Diana lived at Althorp House from her parents’ divorce until her marriage to the then Prince Charles (now King Charles).
Diana’s parents separated in 1967, and officially divorced in 1969.

With her elder sisters and brother Charles, Diana continued to live with her father John Spencer, 8th Earl Spencer at Park House, Sandringham, until the death of her grandfather.

Princess Diana is buried on the Althorp estate. Her brother Charles made the decision due to concerns about public safety and security.
Diana was buried in sanctified ground on an island in the centre of an ornamental lake on the estate.
Charles previously told PEOPLE: “She’s in a happy and secure place.”
Previously speaking to the BBC about Diana’s burial place, Charles said: “There was such a whipped up feeling of emotion everywhere that I was very worried about where we could safely bury her.”
