Nigel Farage has once again taken aim at Prince Harry, delivering a scathing joke at the Duke of Sussex’s expense during a speech at the Bitcoin Conference in Las Vegas this week.

The Reform UK leader is known for his outspoken views. In a speech this week, he mocked Harry’s departure from royal life and his relocation to California.

“In my country, we tend to be a little bit behind,” Farage said. “America has all the new ideas, they take a few years to cross the pond. You send us many good things, and what you’re doing in this space right now, this administration is good. You also send us bad things, because you sent us woke!”

The audience erupted with laughter as Farage smirked and held up a finger, adding: “But you know what, we’ve got you back, because we sent you Prince Harry in return, alright!”

Farage’s dig at the duke is just the latest in a long-running pattern of criticism. Over the years, he has repeatedly targeted Harry and Meghan Markle, accusing them of hypocrisy, attention-seeking and undermining the monarchy.

Nigel Farage’s criticisms of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

Farage’s disdain for Prince Harry has been clear for years. Back in 2019, during a conference speech in Australia, Farage labelled Harry “the Prince of Wokeness”.

As reported by Sky News at the time, he slammed the duke’s decision to limit his family to two children in an effort to help the environment.

“Whether Prince Harry has two kids is irrelevant, given there are now 2.6 billion Chinese and Indians on this Earth,” he scoffed.

Farage also took aim at Meghan, suggesting she had ruined Harry’s reputation. He said: “Here was Harry, here he was, this young, brave, boisterous, all male, getting into trouble, turning up at stag parties inappropriately dressed, drinking too much and causing all sorts of mayhem. He was the most popular royal of a younger generation that we’ve seen for 100 years. And then he met Meghan Markle, and it’s fallen off a cliff.”

He even quipped that he wanted Prince William to “live forever” to prevent Harry from becoming king.

Farage’s jabs have often been personal. At a reception in January 2025 for new MPs and peers at Buckingham Palace, he sarcastically referred to Harry and Meghan as “Wonderboy and Wondergirl” for quitting royal duties and relocating to America.

Speaking after the event, he praised the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh for “doing a lot of the heavy lifting”, contrasting their commitment to public service with Harry and Meghan’s absence.

“Wonderboy and Wondergirl disappear off to America, the Queen dies, the king’s not been well, Andrew’s not in the public eye, Princess Anne is 74, so they [Prince Edward and Sophie] are doing a lot of the heavy lifting, and I think doing it very well,” he said, as reported by the Daily Mail.

Harry and Meghan slammed over coronation ‘demand’

In 2023, ahead of King Charles’ coronation, Farage blasted Harry and Meghan’s reported demands for a balcony appearance.

Speaking to Sky News Australia, he fumed: “The rule is very simple. The balcony is for working, engaged royals. Harry and Meghan opted out of that. They decided to go to the West Coast and make lots of money. They are not entitled to be on that balcony, and the king absolutely must not give in to this.”

Farage has also used high-profile events to rally the public against the Duke of Sussex. At a February 2025 Conservative Political Action Conference conference in the US, an event packed with Donald Trump supporters, Farage whipped the crowd into a frenzy by contrasting American and British cultural trends.

“You gave us woke. We gave you Prince Harry,” Farage said, prompting a chorus of boos. Grinning, Farage encouraged the jeers, saying: “No, you keep him. You keep him.”

Nigel Farage’s attacks on King Charles

However, Harry isn’t the only royal to face Farage’s sharp tongue. Over the years, Farage has also mocked King Charles, accusing him of meddling in “eco-loony politics”.

In 2019, Farage mocked the then Prince Charles for warning at a 2008 EU summit that the North Polar ice cap could disappear by 2015.

“Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. All I can say is Charlie Boy is now in his 70s… may the Queen live a very, very long time,” Farage quipped at the time.

In 2021, Farage doubled down, saying: “Once again, the future king is dabbling in eco-loony politics.”
