Prince Harry tied the knot with Meghan Markle in 2018, and since then there have been huge changes to the Duke of Sussex’s life, and net worth, apparently. It’s reportedly doubled since then.

Ever since leaving the royal family in 2020, Prince Harry, 40, and Meghan, 44, stopped being working royals and went on to embark on their own ventures. This included their bombshell 2022 Netflix docuseries, and the duke writing his 2023 memoir Spare, to name a few.

Meanwhile, Meghan’s own net worth is blossoming thanks to her As Ever lifestyle brand and her Netflix series With Love, Meghan, which both launched in 2025, as well as other ventures.

Although Harry has received a lot of stick from those back home in the UK, it looks like he hasn’t suffered, at least, his bank account hasn’t.

Prince Harry’s ‘net worth’ from 2017 to 2025

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle first met in July 2016, when he was 31. Meghan is three years his senior and was 34, about to turn 35, at the time.

In 2017, months after they met, the prince’s net worth was estimated to be £30 million according to The Richest at the time. Both he and Prince William had received an inheritance of £13 million in trust and estate from their late mother Princess Diana, who died in 1997.

In his 2021 Oprah interview with Meghan, Harry said he managed to pay for security for himself and Meghan thanks to the money left by his mother.

Harry also received millions in heritance from his great-grandmother, The Queen Mother, following her death in 2002. According to reports, William and Harry would claim the inheritance in two payments – on their 21st and 40th birthdays.

This means Harry was reportedly entitled to the second payment of the inheritance in September 2024.

In 2020, Harry and Meghan stepped back from senior royal duties. In a statement, they said they wanted to become “financially independent” whilst still supporting Queen Elizabeth II.

How much was Harry and Meghan’s Netflix deal worth?

In late 2020, reports claimed that Harry and Meghan had signed a Netflix deal. It was reported it was worth $100m (£80m).

They released their docuseries, Harry & Meghan, on the streaming giant in late 2022, which detailed their time in the royal family. It caused some strain between the couple and the royals as they made a string of negative allegations.

Harry also launched a polo documentary in late 2024 whilst Meghan’s lifestyle and cooking show With Love, Meghan premiered in March 2025. A second series aired in August 2025.

In August 2025, Netflix announced it would continue its partnership with Harry and Meghan – but in a new capacity.

The new contract is known as a “first-look deal”. This means Netflix will have the first option on Harry and Meghan’s projects. It’s a more flexible, project-by-project approach, as Netflix moves away from fixed multi-project contracts.

After quitting royal life, Harry and Meghan also reportedly struck up a deal with Spotify, said to be worth $20m (£15m). She launched her podcast series, Archetypes, on there which ran for 12 episodes.

However, the deal ended in 2023. Meghan has since launched her podcast Confessions of a Female Founder with Lemonada Media. It aired in the spring of 2025.

How else has Harry made his money?

In 2021, reports claimed that Harry had signed a four-book deal with Penguin Random House worth up to $40 million (around £30m).

In early 2023, Prince Harry released his tell-all memoir Spare as part of the deal, which again sparked more strain with his family. According to reports, the duke received $20 million (£15m) in advance for his memoir.

According to PEOPLE, proceeds from the book sales were donated to charity.

In September 2025, Harry made a return to the UK and announced a personal £1.1million donation to Children in Need. The donation is designed to help with the charity’s work of tackling violence that impacts young people.
