Prince William 'plans' for when he is king 'could affect' Princess Beatrice and Eugenie
William is the heir to the throne
Prince William will “need” his cousins Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie when he becomes king, a royal commentator has claimed.
The sibling “double act” could be given larger roles under King William, it is speculated – despite the “family problem” of their father, Prince Andrew.
And any promotion to royal duties could see Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie emerge with a higher profile than ever before, amid comparisons to other family members who have held philanthropic positions.

Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie to ‘step up’ when William becomes monarch
The princesses are not working royals under King Charles. But they remain in line to the throne, currently in ninth (Beatrice) and 12th (Eugenie) positions of seniority.
However, royal author Ingrid Seward reckons they could be “called up” by the Prince of Wales when he becomes king.
I think it would be wonderful, and I think it will happen.
“It makes perfect sense, because he will need them,” she told Hello!.
Ms Seward added: “I see them as a sort of double act, working together in the same way as married couples do. Two gorgeous princesses working together as sisters would be very powerful. I think it would be wonderful, and I think it will happen.”

In recent months, the siblings have made unofficial royal appearances at Buckingham Palace garden parties. Princess Eugenie has also been unveiled as a mentor for the 35 Under 35 network for The King’s Foundation.
And Ms Seward reckons both Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie would be “open to doing more”.
However, she warned King Charles is unlikely to reverse his position on the number of working royals. They may, she claims, be “being kept on ice”.

She also likened them to Princess Alexandra and the Duchess of Kent when they were younger. They are said to have contributed without seeking the spotlight. Additionally, Ms Seward mused the princesses could front their own charity.
Insisting they come off as “charming” and “relatable”, Ms Seward also suggested they attract sympathy too. That’s because, she claims, “they’ve got this family problem, with their father, which is very embarrassing and difficult for them”.

Is Prince William getting ready to be king?
Speculation about what a modern monarchy under King William could look like has been pondered over for the Prince of Wales’ entire life.
In recent years, as reports of how King Charles may “slim down” The Firm have continued, many pundits have claimed Prince William would likely follow a similar approach.
However, perhaps due to his father’s diagnosis with cancer, expectations for Prince William have heightened as his public appearances have come under greater scrutiny.
It has been reported on several occasions that Prince William has assumed – and will continue to assume – “more royal work” as his father becomes older.
Furthermore, succession planning is said to have begun even before the king’s condition was disclosed.
“I mean, he’s the oldest Prince of Wales to become king in history. So succession planning had begun before Charles came to the throne simply because of the age issue,” royal author Tom Quinn claimed to Harper’s Bazaar.
And so, some royal observers believe, with King Charles’ reign possibly set to be measured in “years, rather than decades”, Prince William’s time as the Prince of Wales may prove a crucial apprenticeship ahead of acceding to the throne.
