Prince William's 'joke' about family being 'a mixed bag' amid royal 'rift'
Was this a dig?
Prince William is said to have made a surprising joke about how family members might not want to see each other as he met with troops amid the ongoing royal rift.
The Prince of Wales, 42, spent Wednesday (June 4) visiting Army Air Corps families at Wattisham Air Base. In his role as Colonel-in-Chief, the heir to the throne wore military uniform for the trip, and also observed a combat PT session.
But as he chatted with service people and their relatives, Prince William reportedly delivered a cutting quip that may be taken by some as a dig against his brother.

He is also said to have commented the food was “very good-smelling, making my mouth water”. However, he is said to have reflected: “Nothing worse than the smell of bacon in the room and you cannot eat it.”
According to reports, he also asked a group whether they got to see their loved ones enough. And his light-hearted remarks are said to have followed.
