Queen Camilla's 'true feelings' about King Charles' 'rift' with son Prince Harry
Harry made some unflattering comments about Camilla in his memoir
Queen Camilla has remained noticeably silent throughout the alleged rift between her husband, King Charles, and his youngest son, Prince Harry, and according to insiders, that silence is entirely intentional.
As King Charles, 76, continues cancer treatment, his relationship with Harry remains fractured.
But sources close to the queen reportedly claim that Camilla, 77, has no intention of intervening.
“The queen stays out of it,” a palace insider told PEOPLE.

What is Harry’s nickname for Camilla?
In his bestselling 2023 memoir Spare, Prince Harry described his complicated relationship with Camilla.
He notably referred to her as “the other woman”.
In the book, Harry claims Camilla was “dangerous” due to her alleged willingness to trade stories with the press in an effort to rehabilitate her image.
“I had complex feelings about gaining a stepparent,” Harry wrote. “Who I thought had recently sacrificed me on her personal PR altar.”
She’s my stepmother. I don’t look at her as an evil stepmother.
And in a 2023 interview with Good Morning America, Harry elaborated.
He said: “She had a reputation or an image to rehabilitate. Whatever conversations happened, whatever deals or trading was made right at the beginning, she was led to believe that that would be the best way of doing it.”
Despite his sharp words in Spare, Harry clarified that he doesn’t harbour personal hatred toward Camilla.
“We haven’t spoken for a long time,” he told GMA. “She’s my stepmother. I don’t look at her as an evil stepmother. I see someone who married into this institution and has done everything she can to improve her own reputation.”

King Charles and Prince Harry ‘rift’
The reported rift between Charles and Harry has deepened since Harry and Meghan Markle stepped back from royal duties in 2020 and relocated to California.
It was exacerbated by a series of bombshell interviews, a Netflix docuseries and Harry’s memoir, all of which painted the monarchy, and Camilla in particular, in a controversial light.
While King Charles and Queen Camilla recently visited Canada for the State Opening of Parliament, no meeting with Prince Harry in the US took place.
Their paths didn’t cross, and no efforts were made to change that.
“The underlying issue is trust,” royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith told PEOPLE of the reason for the alleged rift. “The king and William don’t trust Harry and Meghan with any kind of confidential conversation.”
Insiders claim the king’s inner circle, including Prince William, are unlikely to support a reconciliation.
Meanwhile, Harry has made a public plea for healing. After losing a court case to reinstate taxpayer-funded security during UK visits, Harry told the BBC: “I don’t know how much longer my father has. He won’t speak to me because of this security stuff.”
But to many within the palace, the comment felt like a subtle emotional manipulation rather than a genuine peace offering.
Royal Insider has contacted Buckingham Palace for comment.
