'Clear sign' Markus Anderson and Meghan Markle's friendship is still going strong
Meghan and Markus have been close friends for years
Although he shies away from the spotlight, Markus Anderson’s close bond with Meghan Markle is seemingly still intact.
Markus has been dubbed the “second most important man” in Meghan’s life.
He reportedly recently accompanied the Duke and Duchess of Sussex during their family outing to Disneyland in celebration of their daughter Princess Lilibet’s fourth birthday.
In several photos shared online, a man believed to be Markus appeared beside the couple wearing a light blue shirt, jeans and a baseball cap. Meghan strategically used a heart emoji to obscure his face.
“He just really is not comfortable in the spotlight. It’s not his thing,” a source close to the couple told Daily Mail earlier this year.
That simple emoji, however, spoke volumes. For fans and insiders, it was a clear sign that Markus is still a part of Meghan’s inner circle.

Who is Markus Anderson to Meghan Markle?
Markus Anderson is the Global Membership Director for Soho House, the exclusive members-only club known for attracting creatives and celebrities.
Originally starting out as a waiter for the brand, Markus worked his way up through the ranks.
He’s also reportedly one of Meghan Markle’s closest confidants.
He just really is not comfortable in the spotlight. It’s not his thing.
The pair are believed to have grown close while both were living in Toronto: Meghan, while filming Suits, and Markus while expanding Soho House’s presence in Canada.
The exact origin of their friendship remains private. But over the years, their bond has been anything but hidden. They’ve been seen arm-in-arm at many events.
Markus was even part of the intimate guest list for Meghan’s 2019 New York baby shower and attended her royal wedding in 2018.

Meghan and Markus’ friendship
Markus even played a pivotal role in Meghan and Prince Harry’s early relationship.
Royal author Katie Nicholl claimed in a Channel 4 documentary: “He [Prince Harry] asked Markus if he could set up, not a date, but an opportunity for them to meet. That happened in one of the private rooms of Soho House.
“There were about seven or eight of them altogether. It was a perfect environment for Harry and Meghan to come together in a really informal setting and actually talk.”
On her former blog The Tig, Meghan once wrote of Markus: “My loving, supportive, and endlessly fun friend.”
While his face may have been missing from Netflix’s Harry & Meghan docuseries or Meghan’s lifestyle show With Love, Meghan, Markus’ low profile isn’t a reflection of any falling out.
According to insiders, his absence is simply a reflection of his personal choice to avoid media attention.
From Toronto to Montecito, he’s been a loyal confidant throughout Meghan’s rise to fame.
