Trooping the Colour: Moment Prince George 'corrected' brother Louis' behaviour on balcony
Trooping the Colour will return this weekend
In a resurfaced clip from Trooping the Colour 2024, Prince George subtly stepped into the role of responsible big brother to Prince Louis, and royal fans can’t get enough.
During the traditional Buckingham Palace balcony appearance for the king’s Birthday Parade on June 15, Prince George was seen gently correcting his younger brother Prince Louis as they stood alongside Princess Charlotte, Kate, Princess of Wales and Prince William to watch the Royal Air Force flypast.

A video shared on X (formerly Twitter) captured the moment Louis turned to chat with their father mid-flypast.
Without missing a beat, according to lip reader Juliet Sullivan in a conversation with the Daily Mail, Prince George leaned toward him and reportedly said: “Turn around,” gesturing for Louis to face forward.
In a surprisingly obedient twist, Louis immediately complied.
“Prince George telling Prince Louis to turn around,” the X user captioned the candid clip.
The moment echoed another iconic balcony interaction, this time between Prince William and Queen Elizabeth back in 2016.
William had crouched down to explain something to toddler George. However, the late queen gestured firmly for her grandson to stand up straight.
While Prince George and Princess Charlotte have always shown poise during royal events, Prince Louis has developed a reputation as the monarchy’s most animated young royal.
From his cheeky faces at the platinum jubilee in 2022 to his dramatic hair flips and uniform fiddling at this year’s VE Day parade, Louis never fails to bring energy to the formality.

Trooping the Colour 2025
Last year’s Trooping the Colour held even more emotional weight. It marked the Princess of Wales’ first public appearance since revealing her cancer diagnosis.
The Princess of Wales stood tall and elegant in a white coat dress with black trim, while Charlotte matched in a navy coatdress.
Meanwhile, George and Louis looked dapper in matching double-breasted navy suits and blue ties.
The event will return this Saturday, June 14, for King Charles’ third official birthday parade.

Although the king’s actual birthday falls in November, Trooping the Colour traditionally takes place in June to take advantage of better British weather.
This year, like last, King Charles will reportedly ride in a carriage rather than on horseback.
In 2023, for his first Trooping the Colour as monarch, Charles rode on horseback to take the salute. This marked the first time a monarch had done so since Queen Elizabeth II in 1986.
However, The Times reported that, amid his cancer treatment, he is unlikely to do it again.
The Prince and Princess of Wales are expected to attend again this year. They will likely be joined by Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
Queen Camilla will accompany the king. Other senior royals, including the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and Princess Anne, are also anticipated to appear.
