June 14 will see King Charles and the royal family wave down from Buckingham Palace balcony as they watch the King’s Parade to mark Trooping the Colour, the monarch’s official birthday.

The royal family’s appearance on Buckingham Palace balcony is a big deal, especially on such a mammoth occasion.

More than 1,400 parading soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians are expected to be seen during the televised procession.

The balcony usually consists of just senior working royals. And one royal expert believes this is the best move

King Charles ‘could make changes’ to Trooping the Colour

Thousands of spectators are expected to gather in London to celebrate the king’s official birthday on Saturday.

The royals are scheduled to depart Buckingham Palace at 10am. They will then watch an RAF flypast from the palace’s balcony, which is expected to take place around 1pm.

The monarch usually reserves an appearance on Buckingham Palace’s famous balcony for his closest relatives.

However, if the king was to change his mind and invite other members of his family, he could cause “huge problems”.

Speculation has been swirling in recent weeks, claiming that Prince William could make the York sisters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, “working members” of the fold when he takes to the throne.

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie rumoured to have increase in status

Due to this, rumours have circulated suggesting that Beatrice and Eugenie could take up more prominent roles amid The Firm.

This has brought around the idea of a potential appearance from the sisters on the balcony during Trooping the Colour this weekend.

However, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams has warned against a change in status for Beatrice and Eugenie. He explained that changes made to their roles could “send the wrong message”.

One major problem could be Beatrice and Eugenie’s link to their father, Prince Andrew.

Prince Andrew withdrew from public life in 2019 after allegations were made regarding his alleged friendship with the now deceased financier Jeffrey Epstein, who was charged with sex trafficking offences.

In a discussion with GB News, Richard Fitzwilliams reportedly claimed: “It would bring into focus the fact that Andrew does not appear, and anything to do with him is still too toxic.

“Unfortunately for Yorks, there is a problem, a huge problem, and it would send a message that would not be appropriate at the moment.”

Trooping the Colour 2025

Mr Fitzwilliams went on to say that the members of the royal family who are included on Buckingham Palace’s balcony are often “noted”.

He continued to describe how those included in the line-up are part of an “iconic” symbol of unity.

This symbol has been a longstanding tradition since the reign of Queen Victoria.

The inclusion of Beatrice and Eugenie at Trooping the Colour could “bring the debate back” to their father Prince Andrew, he predicts.

Likely something the royals are hoping to avoid…
