Princess Kate’s Trooping the Colour style
Tobias Kormind, MD and Co-Founder of 77 Diamonds, has chimed in on what he believes Princess Kate will wear tomorrow.
Jewellery expert Kormind has some big ideas. He predicts that Kate will make a huge statement with a meaningful display in tribute to Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Diana.
Kormind said: “For Trooping the Colour, the Princess of Wales can be expected to wear pieces that combine royal prestige with deep personal connections.

“Historically, Catherine has consistently favoured pearl and sapphire accessories. She often selects pieces that have previously been worn by Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Diana.”
The expert went on to say: “At her first Trooping the Colour as Princess of Wales, she honoured her new title by completing her green and blue ensemble with a pair of elegant diamond and sapphire earrings that had belonged to her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana. As her role within the monarch continues to evolve, it is likely that Catherine will continue to be intentional in her jewellery choices, selecting pieces that strike a perfect balance between the personal and the ceremonial, honouring her family while reflecting the dignity of her public role.”
Princess Kate’s jewellery collection
Kate could sport her stunning 12-carat oval Ceylon sapphire engagement ring. Prince William proposed to her with the ring in 2010.
The ring, set in 18-karat gold, was crafted by royal jeweller, Garrard. Princess Diana received the ring by the then Prince Charles when he proposed to her in 1981.
Kate wears the sparkling sapphire stacked alongside her traditional gold wedding band. The classic band is made from the royal family’s collection of Welsh yellow gold – reminiscent of the wedding bands worn by the late Queen Mother and Queen Elizabeth II.
Depending on the colour of her outfit, Princess Kate could wear either pearl, sapphire or diamond earrings.
The aforementioned jewels have become her firm favourites over the years whilst attending royal engagements. Although, she has often spiced things up with more lowkey, chic pieces or eye-catching stones like amethyst and ruby.
Her collection includes a pair of sapphire and diamond earrings from Princess Diana’s personal collection, gifted to her by Prince William following their engagement.
Royal style
Kate later had the set, which matches her engagement ring, customised into a pair of drop earrings. Consequently, she has been snapped wearing the set multiple times.
In May, the princess sported a five row pearl strand necklace featuring “luminous faux pearls in graduating sizes,” whilst attending the VE Day concert. The event marked the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day.
She first wore the pearl piece, fittingly curated by a Jewish owned brand, when she attended the Holocaust Memorial Service in January. Thus highlighting the symbolic reasoning behind the accessories the princess chooses to compliment her ensembles.

Another staple piece in her collection is a pair of diamond and pearl drop earrings, which previously belonged to her late mother-in-law.
Kate wore the drop jewels in 2017 and has reportedly worn them to royal occasions at least three times.

Trooping the Colour fashion predictions
Meanwhile, the Princess of Wales donned the earrings to attend the late queen’s annual garden party at Buckingham Palace in May 2019.

Hello! reports that Princess Diana debuted the earrings a month before she wed Prince Charles in 1981.
At a previous Trooping the Colour parade in 2019, Kate wore a pair of earrings borrowed from her husband’s grandmother herself.
She wore Queen Elizabeth II’s Bahrain pearl drop earrings. She sported a classic lemon suit dress and a floral hat.

Reports claim the earrings were a wedding present gifted to Queen Elizabeth from the ruler of Bahrain in 1947.
Another item that could be a sentimental gesture to her relatives would be a piece gifted to her by the current queen, Queen Camilla.
The Princess of Wales received a gold charm bracelet from Camilla, when she wed Wills in 2011.
The gold bracelet is adorned with a “C” charm. Symbolising each of their names alongside a coronet and a crown.
