Meghan Markle's former friend Lizzie Cundy takes fresh swipe at her and Prince Harry
Meghan reportedly ghosted Lizzie when she began dating Prince Harry
Meghan Markle’s former friend Lizzie Cundy has publicly criticised the Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry, calling them “complete failures” during a fiery appearance on GB News.
The television personality and socialite, who once counted Meghan as a close friend, did not hold back when asked about the couple’s continued absence from key royal events.
“They whinge, they moan, they criticise, and they are not very grateful. They had it all,” Lizzie said on GB News. “Watching Trooping the Colour, I get the sense they really missed out. They really blew it.”
Lizzie added: “They’re complete failures. The only thing they’re good at is spending money.”

Meghan Markle and Lizzie Cundy friendship
Lizzie is known for her ties in the UK celebrity circuit. She previously revealed that her relationship with Meghan began back in 2013 when the then Suits actress was still finding her footing in the British social scene.
The pair met at a charity event in London and quickly formed a bond.
Lizzie claims she took Meghan under her wing, even trying to help her land a spot on the reality series Made in Chelsea and introducing her to footballer Ashley Cole.
“She wasn’t his type,” Lizzie recalled. She later quipped that Meghan “won the lottery” with Prince Harry.
However, their friendship took a sudden turn once Meghan’s romance with Prince Harry began in 2016.
“I was a dating service, events. You name it, I got it for her,” Lizzie claimed on GB News. “How did she treat me? Ghosted me. She didn’t answer me back when she got with Prince Harry. I wouldn’t work for her again.”
When asked what the duchess was like, Lizzie described her as “not very kind”.
She added: “They didn’t have a sense of duty, she didn’t know what it was like to be a royal. Being a royal is hard work, and you’ve got to have a sense of duty.”

When did Meghan and Harry attend Trooping the Colour?
Meghan and Harry’s last appearance at Trooping the Colour as working royals was in June 2019. They also made an appearance at the 2022 celebrations as it coincided with the late Queen Elizabeth II’s platinum jubilee.
Their absence this year once again highlighted the couple’s continued estrangement from the royal family.
Lizzie contrasted their absence with King Charles’ presence, despite his ongoing health struggles. “Look at King Charles, working with cancer. Incredible,” she gushed.
Lizzie isn’t the only former friend of Meghan who has spoken out about their fractured relationship.
Made in Chelsea alum Millie Mackintosh also claimed she was cut off after Meghan began dating Harry.
“My take on it is that… she’s like, ‘I’m going to be royal now, I don’t need Millie in my life,'” Millie said on her podcast Mumlemmas in 2023. She added that even when she reached out to check in, she received a “really abrupt” reply.
Royal Insider has contacted reps for Meghan for comment.
