Love was in the air at Royal Ascot on Thursday (June 19), as Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi shared a rare public kiss in the royal enclosure.

The couple are approaching their fifth wedding anniversary this summer. They were among the many royals attending day three of the prestigious Berkshire horse racing event.

Beatrice, 36, and Edoardo, 41, took part in the official royal carriage procession before heading to the Royal Box to watch the races.

They were accompanied by family members, including Zara and Mike Tindall, and Peter Phillips and his girlfriend Harriet Sperling.

Amid the excitement of the day, the pair were seen laughing, chatting and closely following the racing action.

At one point, in images obtained by the MailOnline, Edoardo affectionately leaned in and gave his wife a kiss on the lips, a rare moment of PDA from the private couple.

Beatrice embraced the early summer heatwave in style, opting for a vibrant yellow Monique Lhuillier dress adorned with bold graphic florals.

Meanwhile, Edoardo, 41, added a playful flourish to his traditional suit with a red velvet tie.

This year’s Royal Ascot has seen a surge in PDA from royal couples. Beatrice’s cousin Peter Phillips and his girlfriend Harriet Sperling were also spotted sharing a kiss and holding hands.

How royals cope with the heatwave at Royal Ascot

Despite the sweltering 30°C temperatures, members of the royal family maintained their composure and charm throughout the day.

According to King Charles’ former butler Grant Harrold, the royal family is expected to uphold strict public decorum at events like Ascot.

Speaking to BoyleSports, Harrold explained: “There will be bottles of water in there, out of sight. But they won’t drink from them when any of the journey is being made in public.”

He added: “And those little electric fans that you see, Camilla will have one of those fans. She’s somebody who would have one of those things if she could. But when they are in view, never in a million years would she use it and let the media see it.”

Water stations and extra shaded gazebos were installed for the crowds. While some racegoers fell ill in the heat, the royals made it through with grace.

Alongside Beatrice and Edoardo, Zara Tindall looked stunning in a monochrome Laura Green shirt dress with a matching hat. Meanwhile, her brother Peter Phillips coordinated his tie to match girlfriend Harriet’s sunny yellow ensemble.

King Charles and Queen Camilla led the first carriage in the royal procession. Other royals, including Princess Anne, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, and Beatrice and Edoardo, followed in subsequent carriages.

Although Kate, Princess of Wales was noticeably absent, the royal turnout remained strong.
