Comedians Tina Fey and Amy Poehler mocked Meghan Markle during their stand-up routine over the weekend.

The Duchess of Sussex became the punchline of another joke from a comedy star on stage, as the duo poked fun at her new lifestyle brand As Ever and Netflix cooking show.

Amy Poehler and Tina Fey cracked jokes at Meghan Markle and other celebrities at the Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City as part of their Restless Leg Tour.

Amy Poehler and Tina Fey poke fun at Meghan Markle and her cooking show

Tina Fey, 55, and Amy, 53 years old, made the Meghan Markle gag during their monologue at the beginning of the show.

They cracked jokes about the celebrities who were not attending their gig, including Ben Affleck and Nicole Kidman.

Tina said: “Ben Affleck is not here. He’s home going through his contacts looking for more Jennifers to bother.”

She later added: “Leonardo DiCaprio is not here. I assume because Amy and I have combined age of 105.”

This was in reference to the Hollywood star dating women younger than his age.

After Tina Fey made the whip, Amy joined in about Meghan Markle.

She continued: “Meghan Markle is not here tonight. She’s putting flower sprinkles on cookies, and Piers Morgan is furiously rage [beep] about it.”

The Saturday Night Live star was referring to Piers’ feud with Meghan and Harry.

Duchess’ fruit platter makes an appearance

The pair continued on with the show, with Amy practicing ‘new material’ for stand-up and the Mean Girls star talking about her childrens’ birthday parties. The actress shares two daughters with her husband, Alice, 19 and Penelope, 13.

But Tina Fey seemed to make a dig about the parties Meghan Markle throws for her children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. The royal explained the extravagant steps she takes for kids’ parties on her series With Love, Meghan. This included decorating the bash with a balloon arch, tea party food and a rainbow platter.

The actress explained to the crowd: “They’re not going to remember their first seven birthday parties. They’ll remember the feeling of being loved. They’re not going to remember if the Bluey plates match the Paw Patrol cup.”

Tina Fey then added: “So, if you’re like making a Meghan Sussex fruit rainbow, just know that you’re doing that for you. Okay? you’re doing that to prove something to yourself and that’s okay too.”

It wasn’t the first time Harry and Meghan’s children came up, as she dived into the couple blurring their children’s photos on social media.

She spoke about how Amy gave birth to her son Archie in 2008, and shared a photo of the mum and son duo behind her on a screen. But Archie’s face was blurred, in a similar way the Duke and Duchess of Sussex hide their children’s faces.

Tina jested: “I wanted to respect Archie’s privacy so that is a picture of Amy with a baby filter on it. Still really cute.”

Sussexes have been mocked before

Although Amy Poehler and Tina Fey mocked Meghan Markle and Prince Harry during their show, it’s happened before with another comedian.

Jo Koy, who hosted the Golden Globes, made a dig at the Sussexes during his monologue for the 2024 ceremony.

He poked fun at the biggest TV shows and movies of that year including Oppenheimer and Saltburn.

But then he told the crowd: “It turns out Harry and Meghan Markle were still getting paid millions of dollars for doing absolutely nothing – and that’s just by Netflix.”

He was referring to how not much had come out of the royals’ deal with the streaming giant after their docu-series that was released in 2022, Harry & Meghan. The Sussexes were not present at the ceremony to react to the jibe.
