Prince William 'feels deserted' by brother Harry as his absence leaves 'gap' in his life
The brothers used to work closely alongside each other
Prince William has stayed pretty quiet since Prince Harry chose to leave the royal fold in 2020.
William’s younger brother has since moved to the US and set up a sun-soaked life in California, alongside his wife Meghan Markle.
Once upon a time, the two brothers appeared to be close. Now, with 5000 miles between them, the pair are known to not be on talking terms. Apparently, this has hit the Prince of Wales pretty hard.

Prince William feels ‘deserted’ by Prince Harry
A source alleged to Us Weekly: “Harry and Meghan are highlighting a life of fun and lightness while William’s is dominated by duty and public service. They are worlds apart.”
It is safe to say that the two siblings lead very different lives. Not only does William shoulder the duties of the crown, he has recently been navigating both his father and his wife’s battle with cancer.
Harry left a large gap in William’s world.
Across the world, Harry has been raising his two young children whilst focusing on charity work and a much lighter schedule than his older brother.

Prince William and Prince Harry’s ‘differences’
The source reportedly went on to say: “Harry left a large gap in William’s world, not just personally but practically. The whole idea was for Harry to work hand-in-hand with William and to divide and conquer during William’s monarchy. So Harry not being there is tough. He feels deserted by his brother—not that he would ever say that out loud.”
Prince Harry stepped away from the royal fold over fears for his wife Meghan Markle who was facing major scrutiny from the British press and public. He later accused his relatives of mistreatment in both a sit-down chat with Oprah Winfrey in 2021 and a tell-all memoir, published in 2023.
Harry has also openly admitted his difficulties as a “spare”, rivalling his brother the heir, even dubbing his book the same title.
Prince Harry ‘extends olive branch’ to royal family
It comes after rumours have swirled that Prince Harry could be extending an invitation to his royal relatives for them to attend the 2027 Invictus Games – although nothing has been confirmed.
A source told The Mail on Sunday: “Harry has agreed that Invictus should extend an invitation to his family. Invictus hopes the royal family will come along to support the wounded veterans taking part. Harry is hopeful his father will set aside their differences to attend.
“The royals have always been hugely supportive of Invictus and proud of what Harry has achieved in that arena. This is one olive branch from him, which might be reciprocated.”
Royal Insider has contacted Prince Harry’s representatives and Kensington Palace for comment.
