The royal family is often full of surprises, but sometimes the biggest surprises are right in front of fans. Prince William is no stranger to being seen in public but for some reason, it was only due to a recent picture going around social media that fans actually realised his height is different from what they thought.
While he may have always appeared somewhat tall, it seems seeing him in certain photos makes fans realise just how tall he is.
Fans shocked as Prince William appears taller than expected
In images circulating X, Prince William can be seen walking around in a building during the Leading With Impact event for London Climate Action Week this week. And the man who is beside him happens to be much, much smaller.
This left royal fans shocked by the height of Prince William, and they took to X to share their surprise.
Sharing the images on their account, one user wrote: “Prince William,” alongside a heart-eyes emoji. But fans in the comments were more focused on his height than anything else.
One commented: “Tall!! Wowzers, Catherine is a lucky woman.”
Another penned: “He is so tall!!”
“My goodness, he is so tall. His aura!” a third wrote.
A royal fan commented: “He is so tall. And handsome, of course. But I never realised how tall he was!”
In a video taken on the same day, another royal fan shared it on their own account. The video shows Prince William walking beside the same man and speaking to him. They captioned it: “Prince William. He looks so BIG!”
What height is Prince William?
It’s believed that Prince William is the tallest member of the royal family.
According to reports, William is 1.91m, which equals to 6ft 3. But his brother, Prince Harry, isn’t far behind him at 1.86m, which is 6ft 1.
He is so tall. And handsome, of course. But I never realised how tall he was!
But the brothers are significantly taller than their father King Charles, who has a reported height of 1.78m, which is 5ft 10. It’s believed this was also the same height as Princess Diana, William’s mother. And as 5ft 10 is considered tall for women, it looks like she is where William got his height from!
Prince George is catching up to mum Kate’s height
However, it seems that William’s height has been passed on to his children, specifically his oldest, Prince George.
Recently, at Trooping the Colour, George made an appearance on the Buckingham Palace balcony alongside his family. And fans were left shocked by his height.
While it hasn’t been confirmed what height George is, as his mum, Kate, is believed to be 1.75m, which is 5ft 9, it looks like he isn’t far off that.
Many fans spotted the closeness of their height, and even predicted that George will be the same height as his mum next year.
One fan wrote: “On the balcony, did anyone else notice that the Princess of Wales is only a head taller than Prince George? Plus she is wearing heels!”
Another added: “He has got so tall! Next year, he will match her height.”
