Special meaning behind Princess Kate's unusual Wimbledon bow explained
Kate's appearance stunned Wimbledon spectators
Have you ever noticed that Kate Middleton wears a bow attached to her clothing when appearing at Wimbledon? Kate Middleton’s court-side style is difficult to compete with and it even boasts symbolic meaning.
This is what Kate’s special accessory means…

Meaning behind Kate Middleton’s bow that she wears to Wimbledon
Eagle-eyed royal observers may have noticed that Kate Middleton rocks a bow attached to her outfit without fail, when attending Wimbledon.
The princess sports the same exact accessory and it seems it has a significant message attached to it.
Kate wears a small bow, with a dark green and purple pattern and pins it to her outfits.
Kate’s simple accessory is a nod to the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, the very venue where the Wimbledon championships are held every year.
The club’s colours have been green and purple since 1909.
Kate’s quiet nod to the organisers of the venue, which has been responsible for the day-to-day operations of the tournament since 2016, is extremely fitting considering she is the patron.
The princess first wore the distinctive bow back in 2017.

Princess Kate’s love for Wimbledon
Kate is known to be a keen lover of tennis.
She previously told Sue Barker on a 2017 BBC documentary: “I have watched Wimbledon, that was very much part of my growing up. It’s such a quintessential part of the English summer, and I think it really inspires youngsters, myself.
“It inspired me when I was younger to get involved in the game. It hasn’t changed either, I think that’s what’s so wonderful.”
In an outing to a South West London primary school in 2018, Kate reportedly told primary school students: “I love tennis, I think it’s a great sport, I was really sporty when I was little, less so now that I’ve got lots of babies!
This isn’t the first and definitely won’t be the last instance where Kate has included a touch of symbolism with her outfit.

Kate Middleton’s ‘meaningful’ style
In May, Kate paid tribute to her grandfather who was a fighter pilot during the Second World War, by sporting a golden Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm brooch.
Last year, Princess Kate wowed Wimbledon fans with her stunning appearance at the men’s singles where she wore a striking purple dress.
At the time, many speculated that Kate perhaps chose the colour purple to show her support of Wimbledon’s integral branding whilst also representing “ambition” and “peace” – both meanings behind the hue.
Both Kate’s supposed feelings of ambition and peace were fitting as the princess had recently endured her cancer diagnosis and was undergoing treatment, a time period she was likely ambitious to get through whilst maintaining strength and peace within her family unit.
