Emmanuel Macron’s height confuses fans as he stands next to King Charles
The French President has been welcomed with open arms by the royal family...French President Emmanuel Macron’s height has become an interest with royal fans after they saw him standing next to King Charles during his UK state visit arrival.
Macron, joined by his wife Brigitte, were given the royal welcome by The Firm after their plane touched down yesterday (Tuesday, July 8).
Princess Kate Middleton, dressed in Dior, and Prince William, greeted the president before they met up with King Charles and Queen Camilla. The foursome then took a carriage ride towards Windsor Castle.
Macron’s state visit to the UK
After arriving in the UK and heading to Windsor Castle, the couple were wowed at a state dinner held by the monarch and royal family.
A star-studded guest list included Sir Mick Jagger and Sir Elton John, among 160 attendees at Windsor Castle.
For the second day of the visit, Charles took Macron on a private visit to St George’s Chapel in Windsor to lay flowers on the tomb of Queen Elizabeth II.
His Majesty then showed the head of state around the gardens.
Macron is expected to hold talks with No 10’s Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer as their wives, Brigitte and Lady Victoria Starmer have tear at Downing Street.
How tall is Emmanuel Macron compared to King Charles?
Emmanuel Macron’s height stands at 173 cm (around 5 foot 7) whereas King Charles is believed to be 178 cm (5 foot 10).
However, in pictures from the president’s arrival and the state dinner last night, it appears that Macron is taller than the monarch.
Royal fans noticed the difference in the photos.
One user took to X (Twitter): “[Charles has] managed to lose a few inches in height. Macron’s supposed to be 5ft 7 and Charlie is supposed to be 5ft 10 yet Macron looks to be taller.”
While another commented on Brigitte Macron’s height seeming to be taller than King Charles as well. They penned: “Brigitte Macron is taller than the king.”
It’s not the first time the topic has cropped up either. In 2023, TalkTV’s host Julia Hartley-Brewer commented on Macron’s height after a royal visit.
Royal commentator Rupert Bell joked that it may be the president is rocking Cuban heels and following Tom Cruise’s footsteps.
