Prince William caught bragging about his height
Yesterday saw the king and queen, as well as the Prince and Princess of Wales, greet Macron at Windsor Castle.
Macron’s state visit is significant as it is the first state visit by a European leader since before Brexit.
It was also the first state visit hosted at Windsor Castle since the Irish state visit in 2014.
During the king’s meeting with Macron, the French president was seen remarking on Prince William’s height.
Speaking to The Sun, lip reader Nicola Hickling revealed that Macron said of William: “He is incredibly tall”.
King Charles then reportedly replied, saying: “He is very tall. He’s six foot one, he is, ever so.”
William then interrupted, reportedly correcting the duo on his true height.
“Actually, I’m six foot three,” he is believed to have said.

Charles’ speech paying tribute to Prince William
Yesterday evening saw the king host a state banquet in Windsor Castle.
During the banquet, he also gave a speech emphasising the close relationship between the UK and France.
He also paid tribute to Prince William in the speech. However, he failed to mention his other son, Prince Harry.
“The Castle in which we meet this evening was begun by my ancestor – and your sometime countryman – William, Duke of Normandy, in the year 1070,” Charles said in his speech.
“It remains the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world,” he then added.
“So it is perhaps rather appropriate that my son, The Prince of Wales, who shares that earlier William’s name, has made Windsor his home with his family, like so many of our predecessors,” he then said.

Inside the banquet
As well as Kate and William, Princess Anne and Timothy Lawrence were also present at the banquet.
Prince Edward and his wife, Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh were also in attendance.
There were several big names there too, including Sir Elton John and Rolling Stones frontman Sir Mick Jagger.
Actor Dame Kristin Scott Thomas, celebrity chef Fred Sirieix, ex-England and current Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Mary Earps, singer Mika, sculptor Sir Antony Gormley, and authors Joanne Harris and Sebastian Faulks were also there.
They were all sat around a 50 meter-long table, which had taken a week to construct and lay.
On the menu was a special cocktail, l’entente, which combines British gin with lemon curd and French pastis, as well as a range of wines.
Chef Raymond Blanc put together a menu beginning with summer vegetables with sage, raw tomato and extra virgin olive oil, before Rhug Estate chicken with Norfolk asparagus and tarragon cream. The meal ended with iced blackcurrant-soaked sponge with elderflower jelly.
