The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, was dressed head to toe in Parisian glamour on Tuesday when she wore Dior.

Kate and husband Prince William welcomed President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte ahead of the three-day state visit. The president even ‘kissed’ the princess after greeting her.

The 43-year-old looked elegant in French luxury designer Christian Dior, a fashion first for Kate Middleton.

Princess Kate Middleton’s elegant Dior look

Mum-of-three Kate Middleton wore a tulle ballerina skirt, Christian Dior blazer that was cinched at the waist. The jacket is from the 2024 collection, inspired by the 1947 garment created by the designer himself.

However, the outfit broke the royal’s own rule she follows during crucial visits with other countries where she usually wears the country’s national colours. Kate opted for a blush pink look head to toe, instead of using a colour from the French flag.

In 2016, Kate wore red during a royal tour of Canada with William, and earlier this year she wore a dark green outfit for St Patrick’s Day.

Marina Thomas told Hello: “Choosing to wear this elegant outfit by the iconic French designer is a real tribute to the country. Although more subtle than wearing national colours, it is more poignant decision as it is paying tribute specifically to French culture in a very thoughtful manner.

“The choice of this muted tone of pink is an incredibly approachable choice of colour, a real symbol of peace. It is a sign of wanting to promote security and tranquility.

“The rose pink with beige undertones, promotes neutrality and symbolises sophistication and elegance, perfect for a diplomatic state visit.”

Tribute to Princess Diana and Queen Elizabeth II

Princess Kate Middleton paired the look with Diana’s earrings, and a necklace from the personal vault of the late Queen Elizabeth II.

Of course, she wore her signature sapphire engagement ring which was the late Princess Diana’s.

She wore a Jess Collet hat, nude suede heels and suede clutch.

The royal elevated the vintage look with her brunette locks in bouncy waves.

But her outfit for the state visit was similar to the skirt and blazer she wore for the Order of the Garter service earlier in June. Kate stepped out in a white self-portrait look, with a boucle belted jacket and pleated lace skirt.
