Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s hilarious duck problem at Oprah Winfrey’s house explained
Meghan and Harry have always had a love for animalsMeghan Markle and Prince Harry has a huge duck problem that only Oprah Winfrey could help them with.
Oprah Winfrey has a lengthy history with both Meghan and Prince Harry. So much so that she was even the person they chose to do their bombshell 2021 interview with after they left the royal family in 2020.
Over the years, there have been reports suggesting Oprah wasn’t that close with Meghan and Harry anymore for a number of reasons. But that has never been proven, and it seems they are still in touch, and Oprah was the first person they thought of when they had an emergency.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle turned to Oprah during a duck emergency
In a recent episode of Kelly Ripa’s podcast Let’s Talk Off Camera, Oprah opened up about a hilarious duck incident that led to complete chaos.
The emergency took place on Easter Saturday, when Oprah received a call from Prince Harry.
Oprah explained: “He said, ‘Sorry to bother you, O, but we have a duck problem here.’ A duck has come into their yard, laid eggs, and had these chicks.
“And he said, ‘Our pond is a stream, we don’t have a pond. Can we bring the ducks over to your pond?'”
Obviously, Oprah agreed, adding that she had her friend Gayle King’s grandchildren staying over for the holidays.
So, Oprah told him to wait until the kids could come down to see the ducks. But Harry explained that they couldn’t actually wait, and they were heading straight over.

The duck emergency took a drastic turn
But when they arrived, things took a turn, and the whole thing got out of hand.
Oprah continued: “As he opened the door, mama duck flies out. And he’s got all the baby ducks in a box. We’re chasing the mama duck who is in the front yard and has flown to the other side. We’ve got her ducks, Harry’s running after. Meghan gets out, and she’s running after, chasing the mum and trying to get her back.”
Oprah admitted it took “half an hour” of them running around chasing the duck. She confessed it was “the funniest thing” she had “ever seen” and they even filmed a clip.
This seemingly adds a lot more context to a video Meghan Markle posted on Instagram at Easter. She was standing on the footpath while a duck and her chicks walked across the road.

While the video was always enjoyable, it’s even funnier with the background information!
That wasn’t the only animal-related chat in the interview, as Kelly joked she would gift Oprah some birds. But Oprah simply said she would bring them over to Meghan and Harry!
