A royal reunion could come sooner than expected...

Prince Harry and wife Meghan Markle have the “perfect platform” to begin a reconciliation with their estranged royal family, a royal commentator has claimed.

Earlier this year, Harry sadly revealed in an interview that he and his father, King Charles, are no longer on speaking terms.

Harry expressed his desire to reconcile with his father, especially amid the king’s ongoing cancer battle.

But recently, reps of Prince Harry were seen meeting with the king’s aides, sending rumours circling that a reconciliation might be on the cards.

And it seems like a certain upcoming event might present the perfect opportunity…

In 2027, Birmingham will play host to Prince Harry’s Invictus Games.

The news was announced last year, with Washington DC narrowly missing out on the opportunity.

Prince Harry offered his congratulations, saying: “Congratulations to Birmingham, UK, on winning the bid to host the Invictus Games 2027. Your city’s strong ties to the Armed Forces community made it a formidable contender from the very start. Over the years, we’ve seen each city bring a unique spirit and vision to life for competitors, their families, and spectators.”

He continued: “We have no doubt the people of Birmingham will join in celebrating the unwavering respect and admiration we have for our veteran and service community, showing the world how their courage ignites hope and unites us all—something your city knows well.”

Prince Harry, of course, founded the multi-sport competition for wounded and sick military service personnel, both active and retired, back in 2014, when he was still a working member of the royal family.

He has continued to commit passionately to the project despite stepping down from the monarchy in 2020 and moving abroad.

2027 will be the first year that the competition has taken place on Harry’s home soil since it first began in London over a decade ago. Preparations are already well underway. And, big news, the prince has apparently already been sending out invites, including to some of his royal relatives!

‘Perfect platform’ for Harry and Meghan reconciliation

Royal commentator Sarah Hewson discussed the significance of this news in an interview with GB News.

If you are going to have a big reunion, that is a pretty safe space in which to do it.

“I think the Invictus Games in 2027 will be the perfect platform for them to be publicly back here in Britain, representing a charity that Harry founded, that means so much to him, and that Meghan has long supported,” she said.

She then continued: “The Invictus Games is the best of Harry. If you are going to have a big reunion, that is a pretty safe space in which to do it.”
