Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Netflix future 'revealed' amid claim the '$100m deal is dead'

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s once-lucrative relationship with Netflix may be coming to a quiet and definitive end, as insiders claim the streaming giant is letting their reported $100 million deal expire “without drama”, and with no plans for renewal.

According to a source, the Sussexes’ partnership with the platform has fizzled out due to lacklustre performance.

“This deal is dead,” the source said bluntly, as reported by MailOnline. “She had everything going for her, name, platform, press, and the numbers were dismal. They’re just waiting for the credits to roll. They’re letting it expire without drama. There’s no appetite for anything new.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Netflix deal is ‘dead’

The final blow appears to be the poor viewership figures for Meghan’s lifestyle show, With Love, Meghan, and Prince Harry‘s passion project documentary, Polo.

Despite being launched with fanfare, With Love, Meghan failed to break into Netflix’s top 300 shows in the first half of 2025.

In contrast, reruns of Suits, the show that made Meghan famous, significantly outperformed her latest venture.

They’re just waiting for the credits to roll. They’re letting it expire without drama.

Harry’s Polo fared even worse. The documentary ranked 3,436 out of 7,000 titles on the platform and attracted only 500,000 viewers in six months.

Meghan announced a second season of With Love, Meghan, when the first launched in March. However, the future of that series now appears uncertain.

Netflix ‘decision’ is ‘huge loss’ for Harry

One source has told The Sun: “The deal is done; no more shows will be made. Netflix feel they’ve got all they can from the couple. Netflix were clever in that they got a hell of a lot of viewers for the first documentary series.

“There’s no animosity from either side. Netflix execs are well aware Meghan’s priority now is her own brand, and they won’t play second fiddle to that.

“Publicly, there will not be a statement, and of course, if things change dramatically, they’d be open to a one-off project down the line. But for Harry, especially, this will be a blow. It’s a huge loss of revenue.”

Meghan and Harry’s finances

Further signs of the couple’s fading commercial appeal emerged with Meghan’s inactivity on ShopMy, an influencer e-commerce platform.

After initially promoting products seen on her Netflix show, Meghan has not posted in over two months.

Despite the potential for easy earnings, Meghan appears to have deprioritised the platform.

A source close to her said that her “current priorities are centred on As Ever and expanding her business ventures”.

However, critics say the decline in engagement signals waning interest and diminishing brand power.

While Harry claimed in the couple’s 2021 Oprah interview that the Netflix and Spotify deals were driven by “financial necessity” after allegedly being cut off by the royal family, those streams appear to be drying up. Spotify ended its deal with the couple in 2023.

Netflix is said to have covered most production costs for their content, including the hit Harry & Meghan docuseries, which drew huge viewership.

However, aside from that success, most of the Sussexes’ other projects have underperformed if reports are to be believed.

It seems Meghan is now focusing on her As Ever lifestyle brand, having had two launches of products so far this year.
