'Real reason' behind 'peace summit' between Prince Harry and King Charles' aides
The meeting between aides reportedly took place in London earlier this monthA reported “peace summit” happened between Prince Harry‘s representatives and aides to King Charles in London recently.
The meeting has sparked rumours of a possible reconciliation between the king, 76, and his youngest son. In May, Harry himself expressed a desire to reconcile with his family.
Earlier this month, images showed Harry’s chief communications officer, Meredith Maines, meeting Tobyn Andreae, the king‘s communications secretary, at the Royal Over-Seas League. Liam Maguire, who runs the Sussexes’ PR team, was also present.
Now, a royal commentator has weighed in on the meeting and speculated about a possible reason behind it…

‘Reason’ behind ‘peace summit’ between Prince Harry and King Charles’ aides
Royal author Robert Jobson has spoken to The Sun‘s Royal Exclusive show about the meeting.
His comments come amid claims Prince Harry, 40, and his wife, Meghan Markle’s reported $100m Netflix deal has been scrapped and won’t be renewed.
A source has described the claims as a “huge loss” for Harry financially, as Meghan is busy with her lifestyle brand, As Ever.
Maybe that’s why they were over with their staff, were over here having discussions with the king.
Robert said: “Well, the deal was always set about $100 million, wasn’t it? And the talk of that figure sort of blew a lot of people’s minds, but I think that was for productions and things that they’re supposed to have done.
“Where does it leave them? Probably with a bit of a bowl out, looking for some handouts.”
He then speculated: “Maybe that’s why they were over with their staff, were over here having discussions with the king. I don’t know.”

Harry and Meghan ‘can’t rely on spare money forever’
Robert went on to note that, as well as Netflix, Harry and Meghan’s Spotify deal ended in 2023.
He warned that they “can’t rely on the spare money forever”.
When Harry and Meghan, 43, stepped back from their senior working royal roles in 2020, they shared their plans to move to America and become “financially independent”.
They went on to sign a five-year deal with streaming giant Netflix, allegedly worth $100 (£80m). They also signed a deal with Spotify, reportedly worth around $20m (£15.6m).
Meghan released one series of her podcast, Archetypes, on Spotify. However, the couple’s deal ended in 2023.
On Netflix, the couple released a tell-all series titled Harry & Meghan about their romance, wedding, and experience within the monarchy.
However, in it, they also made a string of negative claims about the royal family. That, as well as Harry’s explosive tell-all memoir Spare, has strained their relationship with his family.
This year, Meghan has launched her lifestyle brand, As Ever. She has released a string of products, including jam, honey, and herbal teas. She’s had two successful, sold-out launches and is seemingly planning to expand.

Harry’s ‘reconciliation’ plea to royal family
In May, Prince Harry sat down for an interview with the BBC.
In it, he expressed a desire to reconcile with his family, especially amid his father Charles’ cancer battle. King Charles was diagnosed with cancer in 2024 and has been undergoing treatment since.
Harry said: “There’s no point in continuing to fight anymore. Life is precious. I don’t know how much longer my father has.”
He also claimed his father won’t speak to him.
There’s hope that the recent talks between aides could pave the way for a reconciliation, finally.
