Meghan Markle Netflix ‘cancellation’

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s five-year, reported $100 million Netflix deal isn’t set to be renewed, according to reports. Their expiration date could be set to occur in September.

An insider told The Sun: “There’s no animosity from either side. Things have just run their course.”

Now, many are left wondering what will happen to the second season of With Love, Meghan, which was previously confirmed.

Season two has already been filmed and was scheduled to premiere this fall, and that will likely still go ahead.

Thus far, nothing has suggested a cancellation of the series.

The promotional content is still up on social media, and Netflix hasn’t spoken out about a possible axing.

Meghan Markle’s future with Netflix

However, this may be the final product made by the duo alongside Netflix. According to an insider, as per Grazia, Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos is still on very good terms with Meghan.

Apparently, he isn’t shutting down the idea of a “one-off project” sometime in the future.

In 2022, Harry and Meghan made waves with their bombshell docuseries, Harry & Meghan.

However, Harry’s following projects didn’t make the same splash.

Harry’s Polo docuseries reportedly only garnered 500k views in the first half of 2025.

Heart of Invictus also failed to break into the Netflix Top 10 charts in both America and Britain.

The success of With Love, Meghan

Although the show was divisive, With Love, Meghan was by all means a success.

The show ranked in Netflix’s top 10 global shows within a week of its release in March and raked in a jaw-dropping 2.6 million views.

Shortly after the release of season one, Netflix confirmed that season two had already been shot and would be hitting our screens later this year.

It seemed Meghan’s Montecito-based show touched the hearts of fans and even captured the attention of less enthused viewers.

Meghan described the show perfectly, stating: “The series is about doing what you can do, and doing it with love.”

With Love, Meghan season two

Season two is set to be similar to season one, welcoming more familiar faces.

Model Chrissy Teigen and chef José Andrés have already been announced.

Meghan has said of season two: “I’ve been fortunate to have the people that I want on the show… I’ve been really lucky. We have a great, great line-up.”

Meghan also opened up about the behind-the-scenes of the series and highlighted how the programme was truly made with love.

She said: “Archie did the [filming clapboard!]. Sweet moments. They would also come with my husband and visit me on set. I loved that my children were able to watch me working and see the balance of that, and understand what Mama does and is working to create and share. It was really special because up until then, they hadn’t seen me at work.”
