Others defended the look!King Charles shared a rare glimpse into his Sandringham home this week as he hosted both the President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, and the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, for diplomatic meetings.
But many royal fans were left distracted by the monarch’s choice of suit.

Royal fans were delighted to get a sneak peek into King Charles‘ gorgeous reception room at Sandringham House, where he posed for a photo with the Moldovan president.
The photo, posted on the royal family’s official social media channels, showcased an elaborately-decorated room full of beautiful rugs, lamps, leafy plants, and stunning artwork.
Please give better clothes to the king.
One fan described it as looking “very cosy and inviting”.
A further post showed a gift the Prime Minister of India had brought the king: a tree.
The caption explained the sweet meaning behind the present. It was inspired by an environmental initiative Narenda Modi has launched, encouraging people to plant trees in tribute to their mothers.

King Charles’ suit sparks complaints as he meets Narendra Modi
However, it was the king’s outfit that seemed to catch a lot of people’s attention. King Charles seemed to be going for a more relaxed look than usual, in a loose grey cuffed suit, which received some mixed reviews.
“The suit doesn’t look like a proper fit, well-ironed, and [the] pants are oversized,” one person criticised on X.
“The king needs a new tailor,” another person agreed.
Someone else commented: “Please give better clothes to the king.”
However, a fourth person came to his defence, explaining: “Those are called cuffed pants. These were popularised by Edward VII (His Majesty’s great-great-grandfather) to protect the trousers’ hems from wear and tear. Those ‘turnups’, as they are called, are a testament to King Charles’ commitment to refined bespoke tailoring.”

Charles and Camilla attend the Sandringham Flower Show
It was an action-packed few days for the king, as Sandringham also played host to its annual flower show this week.
14,500 visitors attended the event’s 142nd installment, held on the royal estate in Norfolk.
Charles and Camilla delighted the crowds as they made their arrival, waving from a carriage once owned by Queen Victoria.
This will be one of the couple’s final public engagements before they embark on a (much-deserved!) summer break, which they’re expected to spend at Balmoral in Scotland.
