Prince William tipped to take on 'godfather' title as pal Hugh Grosvenor welcomes baby
Prince William's pals have some exciting news...
Prince William could be set for a new title outside of the royal family following some baby news from his friend, Hugh Grosvenor.
The prince has several titles. He is the Prince of Wales, Duke of Cambridge, Duke of Cornwall, Duke of Rothesay, Earl of Carrick, Baron of Renfrew, Lord of the Isles, and Prince and Great Steward of Scotland.
Not only that, but he holds some sentimental titles in his family life, like son, husband, and dad. Now, he could be earning another. And, a royal commentator reckons there’s an “excellent chance” of this happening.

Prince William could be getting new title following baby news
Prince William’s close friend Hugh Grosvenor has some very exciting news.
He has welcomed his first baby with his wife, Olivia Grosvenor, Duchess of Westminster.
In March, a spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Westminster confirmed that the couple were expecting their first child together.
The Duke and Duchess now look forward to spending this special time together as a family.
A new statement from the couple reads: “The Duke and Duchess of Westminster are thrilled to announce the birth of their baby daughter.
“Both the Duchess and Cosima are doing well. The Duke and Duchess now look forward to spending this special time together as a family.”
Now, reports suggest that the Prince of Wales could play a significant role in the baby’s life.
Hugh Grosvenor, who is the seventh Duke of Westminster, is close pals with William. Hugh is even the godfather to his eldest son, Prince George.
The close connection doesn’t end there…

Inside Prince William’s friendship with the Duke of Westminster
King Charles is Hugh’s godfather, while Hugh’s mother, Natalia, is one of William’s godparents.
Due to their closeness, it is expected that Prince William will likely be the godfather of the couple’s firstborn.
Prince William also played an important part at the couple’s wedding last June. Prince William served as an usher on their big day.
Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams has told Royal Insider: “There are close links between the royal family and the Duke of Westminster. He is godfather to Prince George and Prince Harry’s son Archie.
“King Charles is godfather to the duke. William was an usher at the duke’s wedding last year to Olivia Henson which Prince Harry did not attend.
“I think there is an excellent chance Prince William will be his godfather. Obviously the heir to the throne would take precedence over any princes who were in exile! However the duke has reportedly remained friendly with both brothers which is something of a diplomatic feat and Prince Harry might well be named as a godparent if they have a second child.”
Hugh Grosvenor’s title
Hugh, 34, inherited his title and control of Grosvenor Estate, then worth an estimated £9 billion, after the death of his father in 2016.
He is now ranked one of the richest billionaires in the world due to his reported £10 billion net worth.
In March, a spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Wesminster announced they were expecting their first baby.
The statement read: “The Duke and Duchess of Westminster are very pleased to share that the Duchess is expecting a baby in the summer. The couple are delighted with the news and are very much looking forward to starting a family together.”
