Kate Middleton appears in new video for early childhood development project
She's helped produce seven short films aimed at people working with young children and families
Kate Middleton has appeared in a new video for her early childhood project as she enjoys her summer break.
The princess is backing a series of films showcasing some of the most important things to consider when raising children.
Kate, 43, is enjoying a summer break with Prince William and their three children. However, she’s also shared a message highlighting the importance of a child’s first five years of life.
It’s part of her project, The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, that she launched in 2021.

The centre has produced seven short films, which are now available on its YouTube channel, and Kate has taken a close role in producing them.
Early childhood offers a sacred opportunity to transform our societies for the better.
They’re aimed at people who work with babies, young children and families. It begins with an introductory film, followed by six more.
How We Grow an Emotionally Healthy Brain and Noticing and Navigating Feelings are the first two. Then there are Managing Big Feelings Together and Back and Forth Interactions. Finally, there are Supporting Early Learning and Creating Space for Connection.

Young children are one of the main focuses of Kate’s charity work. The princess spent time with the films’ illustrators, as well as early years practitioners involved in the films at a workshop in June.
Childhood development experts, including Professor Peter Fonagy, who has worked with Kate for a long time, and Professor Sam Wass, helped with the films too.
A number of organisations, including the Scouts and Action for Children, are set to use the clips in their work.

Kate wants to ‘raise a younger generation better equipped to face the future’
In a new message released, Kate said: “Early childhood has been recognised as the golden opportunity to build strong foundations for future life, health and happiness.”
She added: “The new animated films from The Centre of Early Childhood showcase how adults can create nurturing, loving interactions with children. Helping to foster social and emotional development during their earliest years. These core social and emotional skills are essential in forming healthy relationships. And, are fundamental building blocks that can carry us through life.
“That is why we want to raise the awareness of, and celebrate, the extraordinary value of everyday moments of connection which matter more than ever in a rapidly changing world. Early childhood offers a sacred opportunity to transform our societies for the better. And, by nurturing these skills in our babies and children, we will be raising a younger generation better equipped to face the future.”
The announcement comes days after royal insiders claimed that Kate and William have been stepping up as King Charles continues his cancer treatment.
A palace source said that the king has been relying on his elder son and his wife. Kate herself finished a course of chemotherapy for cancer last summer.
The insider reportedly told The Examiner: “Charles is leaning on them a lot more. It’s very clear he’s seeing them as the future of the monarchy. Which is exciting. But, also puts a ton of pressure on them both because they don’t want to let him down.”
