'Truth' behind Prince Andrew's Windsor Castle sighting following shock book allegations

Has there been a "change" in his outlook?

Prince Andrew looked “more reflective” in the most recent sighting of King Charles’ brother at Windsor Castle, a body language expert reckons.

The late Queen Elizabeth II‘s second son was photographed breaking cover over the weekend after reportedly holing himself up in his Royal Lodge home as new claims about the Duke of York and his ex-wife emerged last week.

Andrew Lownie’s new royal biography, Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, was serialised in a newspaper. Among the many bombshells included were shocking claims Prince Andrew lost his virginity aged 11, and allegations concerning Fergie’s spending. However, Judi James suggests Andrew may be feeling “less tense”, despite the deluge of fresh claims.

Prince Andrew sighting at Windsor Castle

Prince Andrew was snapped heading out for a walk at Windsor on Sunday (August 10). He was spotted leaving the 30-room mansion he has lived in since 2004. Prince Andrew was said to have then driven to Windsor Castle in his Defender.

However, having reviewed the images obtained by the Mirror, Judi offered what might be considered a surprising conclusion about Prince Andrew’s true feelings, bearing in mind what was reported about him last week.

She told the Mirror: “It’s less about what has changed in Andrew’s body language here and more about what’s missing. Caught in this one moment he appears to have lost the rounded-eyed, haunted expression.

“His frown has melted slightly, and there are no obvious signs of muscle tension in his facial expression. The royal known for looks of haughty arrogance appears less immersed in signals of status and entitlement and perhaps more reflective here.”

Judi also pondered whether these perceived signals might indicate that a little more humility might be on display.

It might hint at a more philosophical and less defiant approach now.

She continued: “His mouth is closed but his lips aren’t clamped, and his shoulders look relatively relaxed. One pic like this might not capture his current mood in its entirety. But it might hint at a more philosophical and less defiant approach now.”

‘Arrogant, pompous and obsessed with status’

Meanwhile, with Prince Andrew’s popularity at rock bottom – 87% of British respondents to a YouGov poll said they had a negative view of him – another royal pundit expressed how there is a “distinct ring of truth about his portrayal” in Mr Lownie’s book.

Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond shared with the Mirror recently: “These summer months are meant to be a period of calm and respite for the royal family. But here’s the duke once again, splashed all over the papers, with graphic tales.”

Noting that the book will most likely have “infuriated” Prince Andrew, Ms Bond also said the depictions contained within its pages chimed with her own experiences of the royal.

“Arrogant, pompous, and obsessed with status was my abiding impression of him,” she added.
