Duchess Sophie bringing back fashion trend with stunning Aztec inspired dress
Duchess Sophie is a pro at chic summer style
Regardless of the occasion, Duchess Sophie always seems to wow with her fashion choices, especially during her latest outing sporting an Aztec-inspired printed dress.
Sophie has quickly become one of the most fashionable members of The Firm, and she has caught the eye of royal observers again by reviving a previous trend.

Duchess Sophie stuns in Aztec print dress
Sophie looked wonderful as she visited a care home in Salisbury, Wiltshire, this week. It was here she rocked the Nancy dress by Chelsea-based label Lexy London.
The fit-and-flare design rocked puff sleeves and a colourful pattern, echoing Aztec influences.
The number appeared to be the perfect option as sun-soaked Wiltshire reached high temperatures of thirty degrees on Tuesday (August 12) – phew!
Duchess Sophie’s appearance also took an emotional turn.
Sophie met with 105-year-old James “Jim” Wren, a war veteran who survived being torpedoed at sea and over three years in a Japanese prisoner camp.

Sophie’s emotional meeting with a war veteran
The 60-year-old Duchess of Edinburgh met with Mr Wren to mark the 80th anniversary of VJ (Victory in Japan) Day at his care home.
“Very nice to meet you, thanks for having me. It’s my honour to meet you,” Sophie reportedly said upon meeting James.
James told Sophie of his survival of the sinking of HMS Repulse in the South China Sea in December 1941.
Tragically, 513 sailors from HMS Repulse died. His survival was a miracle.
James recalled: “I was having a cup of tea and the alarm went off. The first bomb got right behind me.
“And fortunately, it didn’t explode. It got down through three decks. That saved my life in a sense.
“From then onwards it was a case of actions, actions, and it was torpedo after torpedo, and they eventually got nine hits.”
War veteran shares emotional story with Duchess Sophie
James clung onto debris before being rescued by HMS Electra, on which he was then taken to Singapore to defend it against the advancing Japanese troops.
As they fled Singapore, James was captured by a Japanese destroyer in February of 1942. He spent three and a half years in a prisoner of war camp in Sumatra.
He told Sophie: “It was a possibility we could perish and all those people on board. We didn’t know where our next meal or drink would be coming from, and left to get on with it as best we can.
“They had no idea how to deal with prisoners of war, the Japanese.”
At one point during their discussion, Sophie became visibly emotional and was seen fighting back tears.
Although, she did manage to keep her composure and the pair were seen smiling in several snaps.

Fans gush over Sophie Wessex’s style
Meanwhile, fans of the royal took to social media to gush about her appearance during the moving meeting.
“Love this photo. Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, is a true diamond. How wonderful does Mr Jim Wren look, too,” one penned.
“It was a lovely gesture from the Duchess of Edinburgh to visit Jim Wren, a Royal Marine veteran. I’m not particularly a royalist, but I do like Sophie. She’s always comes across as being genuine and kind,” stated a second.
A third chimed in about Sophie’s appearance: “Always stellar, Princess Sophie the Duchess of Edinburgh.”
“I’m not normally a fan of bold prints, but somehow Sophi,e Duchess of Edinburgh, wears them so well, almost as if patterns are her signature look,” gushed a fourth.
Elsewhere, speaking after their meeting, James said: “It’s been a great honour to meet her.”
