Harry and Meghan's new Netflix deal was announced recentlyDuchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, has been slammed by American journalist Megyn Kelly in a new TV appearance.
Kelly, 54, was speaking on Sky News Australia when she took aim at the duchess, accusing her of a “stupid attempt to be Martha Stewart” with her latest Netflix ventures.

Meghan Markle criticised by Megyn Kelly over Netflix deal
During an appearance on the channel yesterday (Wednesday, August 13), Megyn, 54, took aim at Meghan, 44, amid news that the Sussexes will continue their partnership with Netflix. The new agreement is described as a “multi-year, first-look deal for all its film and television projects”.
Their initial deal, signed in 2020, was reportedly worth $100m (£80m) and lasted five years. Since the deal, the couple have fronted a 2022 docuseries titled Harry & Meghan, documenting their royal family exit, as well as a documentary on polo. A documentary produced by the couple on world leaders, Live to Lead, and a documentary on the Invictus Games have also been released.
Earlier this year, Meghan’s cooking and lifestyle show, With Love, Meghan, debuted on the streaming service. A second season of the show will air later this month.
As part of their new partnership, Harry and Meghan’s Archewell Productions company will produce a documentary about the HIV and AIDS crisis in Uganda called Masaka Kids, A Rhythm Within. In addition, it includes the production of Meet Me at the Lake. It’s an adaptation of Carley Fortune’s bestselling romance novel.
However, speaking on Sky News Australia, Megyn took aim at the couple’s new Netflix deal. She speculated that Netflix wanted to cancel its deal with Harry and Meghan; however, a representative for the couple may have “begged” the streamer to give them a new, different deal.

Kelly then continued.
“It’s a save face mechanism,” she claimed. “Because Netflix has these two under contract, if it wanted to renew some exclusive deal with them, it would have.
“It has more money than God. It’s not hurting for cash. It could easily renew a deal with these two.”
If they do have anything more they want to say about the actual, interesting people, the royal family, that would sell.
“So, I think the first look thing saves face for them,” she continued. “And it also hedges Netflix’s bets, when the king, god forbid, dies, they want to tell all their disgusting stories about him, which is right on brand for them.
“If they do have anything more they want to say about the actual, interesting people, the royal family, that would sell. It’s always sold before for them.”

Megyn Kelly tears into Meghan Markle
Megyn’s rant at the Sussexes didn’t end there though. She went on to say that the only project that has worked for Harry, Meghan, and Netflix so far is the docuseries they did in 2022, titled Harry & Meghan.
She said: “So I think Netflix is smart to say ‘Hey, if you want to do that again – makes you look terrible, but – it pads our bottom line, so sure, we’d be interested in that.’ But your stupid attempt to be Martha Stewart, your documentary on polo, as you want us to believe you’ve become a man of the people from your Montecito mansion, you want to do a documentary on polo? Which about two people in the world can relate to?
“Yeah, no, not interested.”
