Meghan Markle reveals who said 'I love you' first between her and Prince Harry

Meghan Markle has bashfully revealed how Prince Harry opened up about declaring his love for her.

The second season of With Love, Meghan was released on Netflix today (Tuesday, August 26), with eight new episodes to captivate fans of the Duchess of Sussex.

In the third episode, Meghan Markle is joined in the kitchen by Queer Eye star Tan France. As well as offering his take on her choice to spread flower sprinkles over her brunch recipe, the fashion guru also dives in with prying questions about the early days of Meghan and Prince Harry’s romance…

When did Meghan Markle and Prince Harry get together?

According to reports, Meghan and Prince Harry met for the first time in the summer of 2016.

Their first date is believed to have taken place at a private members’ club in London. US actress Meghan was said to be in the capital to attend Wimbledon.

However, it has been claimed, the royal’s punctuality almost let him down.

Meghan previously related in their joint Netflix doscuseries: “[He was] late. And I didn’t know him. So I was like: ‘Oh, is this what he does?'”

Meghan persisted with her royal beau, though. And by the time of their third date, Meghan has disclosed, it seems like Prince Harry had fallen hard for her, too.

Prince Harry was the first to say ‘I love you’…

While making apple pies and vegetable stamps with Tan, Meghan dropped a huge detail about her relationship.

After she indicated her and Prince Harry’s fates seemed fixed, Tan asked her about falling in love.

“We met in Botswana and we camped for five days together,” Meghan said about her third meet up with her now-husband.

You really get to know each other when you’re in a little tent together.

She went on: “You really get to know each other when you’re in a little tent together.” Pantomiming her conversation back and forth at the time, she went on: “And it’s like: ‘What is that outside the tent?’ ‘That’s an elephant.’ ‘Are we going to be safe?’ ‘Yeah, you’re safe.’ ‘OK.'”

Meghan then made out that Prince Harry mentioned ‘love’ first.

“He told me,” she smiled.

“Oh that’s nice,” Tan responded, adding: “You’re starting to blush. I’ll stop this line of questioning!” To which a beaming Meghan flicked her ponytail and joked: “She’s still got it.”

Meanwhile, when the couple announced their engagement in 2017, Prince Harry spoken about how they camped out together during that same trip.

He recalled at the time: “It was three, maybe four, weeks later [after previously seeing one another] that I managed to persuade her to come join me in Botswana. We camped out with each other under the stars.”

Prince Harry went on: “She came and joined me for five days out there, which was absolutely fantastic. Then we were really by ourselves, which was crucial to me to make sure that we had a chance to get to know each other.”

With Love, Meghan season two is released on Netflix on Tuesday August 26.
