Meghan Markle mocked over missing her favourite radio station in the UK

Curiously, her royal in-laws didn't seem to come up...

Meghan Markle has confessed she wouldn’t mind having a little more ‘Magic’ in her life.

The Duchess of Sussex is currently a hot pick for Netflix viewers after the second season of her lifestyle series With Love, Meghan was made available on the streaming giant earlier this week.

Celebrity guests joining Meghan Markle in her kitchen for a spot of cooking and crafting include José Andrés, Samin Nosrat, and Chrissy Teigen. Queer Eye star Tan France also links up with Meghan, with the fashion guru quizzing her about the early days of her romance with Prince Harry, as well as offering his take on her adoration for flower sprinkles.

What Meghan ‘misses most’ about the UK

However, Tan’s reaction to Meghan’s admission about what she misses most following ‘Megxit’ seemed to leave him staggered.

Tan was born in Doncaster, south Yorkshire, but became a naturalised American citizen in 2020. He lives in Utah with his husband and two sons.

In episode 3 of season 2 of With Love, Meghan, he asked the show’s star what she missed most about life in the UK.

And while his stunned reaction left Meghan smiling, Tan soon regained his composure – joking Meghan’s choice was more befitting of a “grandma”.

‘Such a grandma’ pick

“Honestly one of the things I miss the most about the UK is the radio station Magic FM,” Meghan told Tan.

“Wow!” he exclaimed. Tan then added: “Sorry to say this to you publicly, but that’s such a grandma station.”

Meghan, however, was not to be radio-shamed. “I’ll be that grandma,” she responded.

“My favourite station in my car is called ‘Mom Jeans’,” Meghan went on, defiantly.

“These are throwback, great, singalong, you forget they existed [tunes],” she explained.

Apparently illustrating her point, Meghan then played Lisa Stansfield’s 1989 hit All Around the World through her mobile phone.

“It’s so good!” Tan gushed as he boogied by the oven where he was stirring apples on the hob.

How social media users reacted

Tan may have seemingly changed his mind quite rapidly, but over on X With Love, Meghan fans appeared to be big fans of Magic FM, too.

It was also noted how Meghan hadn’t made mention of missing her husband’s relatives.

I love how she never even brings up the royal family.

One person reacted: “I love how she never even brings up the royal family and misses @magicfm as her one British thing (it is a GREAT radio station).”

“Magic FM is incredible, hats off to Meghan. Amazing taste! Of course, the haters will try to boycott it… even though most of them haven’t even listened!” agreed another.

And a third concurred: “I usually listen to Smooth radio in the car but will happily swap over to Magic and see what I think. I trust Meghan’s taste @magicfm.”

Meanwhile, one detractor inverted the original enquiry by posting: “Lol. More importantly, do we miss her?”
